Boost controler

So I thought I had all this figured out. Well I guess I have a lot to learn. So if I get intake, charge piping, intercooler, downpipe, and catback do u think I need a boost contoler. The guys that I was talkin to that is gona tune it asked if I was going to get one of those. So do I need one. If I do should I go with a manual or electronic. Thanks for the help guys.

Everything you just listed will have no benefit with out a tune after about 5 key cycles.

What he said ^^^

Go with someone that knows how to tune an LNF. If you are their first tune, it'll be too rich.

If you're "tuner" is asking if you're going to get one of those before the tune, might want to consider a new tuner.

If your "tuner" doesn't understand that there are tables for boost control in the ecm then find a new tuner. run Forrest run, run like the wind!

The car comes with a controllable boost solenoid stock. Well, kinda controlable but whatever, not the issue LOL. With HPTuners you can adjust for the amount of boost you want. You will hit a wall at 22-23 tho, and if you desire more, you need to either trick it or get a boost controller like you are saying.

If your tuner knows nothing about what I just wrote, I would consider someone else. While these things aren't complicated to tune, getting to that next level takes a better tuner IMO.

Whoever you pick, ask him if he knows what Lambda means. If not, find another.

Lambda is the symbol used by this ECM to calculate A/F ratio. 1.00 lambda = 14.7 A/F mixture. Tofu is a member on here.

I'll talk you through it and answer any questions you have. I just had lunch with Tofu today and can introduce you all if you'd like.

I'm neutral on HPT vs Trifecta, so let me know what you're looking for and I can steer you to who you'd need to talk to. Each have different strengths and features.

Not that I know of. In fact I've heard that they're in some legal trouble for promising the guys planning to go big turbo that they would do it (to make the sale) and then didn't follow through.

Now it's like what do they care if the big turbo folk go to Trifecta or somebody... they already got their money. That's one thing that's been bugging me about HPT recently, as that is just wrong.

No ****? That's F'ed up. I once wrote to them and they wrote back to me quickly saying they were working on it very hard for the LNF. Wow

If that is true, then that would be really great for a lot of people.

I kinda wonder if the possibility of legal issues lit a fire under them then.
