BSR PPC tuner... didnt work... please help
I have an 09 cobalt ss tc. I have the hahn intake, charge air piping, intercooler, 3" catless downpipe, 3" cat back exhaust. I ordered the PPC because i was told it was designed to work with hahn products. Apparently this was a lie... The first time i tried the tuner on my car, i was running E3 spark plugs. My mistake... I tuned the car, took it on a test drive and it fouled out my spark plugs. I assumed this was just a problem with the spark plugs so i changed them out for better ones (autolite platinum plus) I reinstalled the tune and took the car on a test drive. I came back running on 3 cylinders. Ive troubleshot my car a little this morning and im at a loss as to what wrong. The cylinder that isnt firing is the one all the way to the left. The wire is sending a spark, the cylinder has a new spark plug in it gapped at 4.3 which is the factory recommended gap. The ecu has been restored to factory settings. Please tell me there is an easy fix and not that i will have to replace this motor.
There was a cpl guys on here had the e-3's implode the tips and blew there engine with the e-3's the plugs are also too long way longer than stockers and one guy said touched his piston. So yeah anyone out there do not use the e3's. Op did you're plug foul out or blow off the tip? I had a box of four took them back never put them in the lenghth from where the plug seats to where the tip is is way longer than it should be.

I just tried regapping the spark plugs to .032. It didnt work. I also tried swapping 2 spark plugs to see if it was just a problem with those, its not. The same cylinder continues not to fire every try.
i had E3s installed, had misfires, i understand those are bad plugs, i do not need guidance on that. I need guidance on why my car will not fire one of the cylinders at all, im getting a spark on the wire, the spark plug thats in there now is good, because i tried it on another cylinder. The E3 spark plug did not damage my motor. I know this because i put other spark plugs in there and they worked with the factory tune. As soon as I installed the PPC tune the second time. I lost a cylinder and I do not know how to make it work again. I'm hoping that this is not going to cost me a new motor. So I'm trying to rule out any other possible issues first. The spark plugs are NOT the issue. What else could it be?
Where are the coils and how do i swap them around... keep in mind that i do have a spark on the cylinder is not firing
I think there's some misunderstanding... The wire is sending a spark, the spark plug is receiving a spark. The spark plug is sparking. The cylinder is not combusting
First you're talking about spark plugs wires, and second you don't know where your coils are??
The LNF doesn't even have any plugs wires, and the coils must be removed to access the plugs, so you've already had them off. They consist of a connector at the top, the coil body, and the coil boot at the bottom that attaches to the spark plug.
You can move coils from cylinder to cylinder, they are all the same. If the misfire follows the coil, then those shitty E3 plugs probably cooked one of your coils, and you will need a new one.
First off check compression then start diaging from there...... Fuel and spark main two componets after you reach the conclusion with the compression.. Diag diag diag. Check to see if the coil fires with a dis spark tester... Yes u can use it.. If it gets spark put a plug to check ure plug if good check fuel.... Verify resistance in injector isnt bad. And ect... All i can do i say things to diagin.. Now u have to do the work.
ok my bad the coil pack is producing power to the spark plug but the coilpack is still the issue. When i changed the coil around with another one the whichever cylinder i put it on would fire so that has to be the issue. I appreciate all of your help in diagnosing. I think the issue was caused by the BSR PPC tuner and i am sending it back to get the trifecta tune. I am much more confident in that device than this one. I also intend to put the ngk's in my car so hopefully i wont have issues like this
just use the factory plugs, not even NGKs... i'm using the stock AC Delcos gapped .032 and have been for over 20,000 miles on them, the car is almost fully bolt-ed on 23psi...
you have to buy them in a set of 8, but not a big deal, put the other 4 back for later use
