Byt cai
I think I'm going to hold of for a bit... all ready pm'ed you nick.
looks like benefit of this intake over the K&N is that this is a CAI that goes all the way down into the bumper. the K&N is more of a SRI in the stock location with a heat shield

I didn't get a chance to put my car on the dyno the day we went. We didn't get there until 7-8pm and I tuned PBass' car that night and another car we were playing with. Im hoping to get back very soon tho to test it out
Im going to make a thread and offer a few of each at a GB price. Ill prolly make a SRI quick first so everyone can see what they look like first

If you did that, technically you would be only the 2nd company to offer a CAI for the HHR SS.
Secret Services Auto out of Houston made to order them back when the HHR SS was first released, but to my knowledge only between 3-5 were ever made (I have my hands on one thanks to BartSS).Treadstone offered to make us a nice one, Jason said to find a HHR SS in the Miami area to leave there car for a week and he would make one. But I couldn't get anyone on board on the HHR Forums to get it done, so it kind of died.
Dejon makes a SRI, but it sits over the top of the engine.
IMO, if you make a CAI for the HHR SS, use the stock fender hole location and run the filter down in the wheel well.
I also thought that maybe just a nice pipe from the stock airbox to the turbo inlet would help flow, since that piece has a pancake bend in it.
This is basically what K&N did on the HHR SS, but all they did was round out the area the pancake was in and use the stock pipe size, threw in a filter and a lid with there name on it for the kit.

We don't have time right now to make a run of them with the ongoing projects and getting ready to move to our new building. Once we move and get settled in I will be making a thread for a GB on the CAI and SRI versions.

Im not worried about the OTTP one. Ive seen people swap intakes constantly so Im sure once a few people try this, more will change too
Edit: The CAI will be $300 + shipping. Includes a new K&N Filter, MAF Mount and a push connect breather line fitting like stock.
SRI will be $250 + shipping, also including new K&N Filter, MAF Mount and the breather fitting.
If you remove the MAF mount, you can deduct $30. If you don't want the new K&N Filter, you can deduct $50.
Thanks.
