Can you piece together a GMS1?
Just like the title says, is it possible?
I was looking on crateenginedepot.com and they carry 3 bar Bosch map sensors for $17.22 ea, O-rings for the 3 bar map for $2.95 ea, and the plug and play stage kit harness adaptor for $102.95...
The GMS1 kit contains:
1 - Bolt Tmap Sensor
2 - Connector Sen-MAP w/ leads
1 - Sticker Premium Fuel
1 - Label Cert
2 - O-Ring T-MAP
2 - Sensor T-MAP
1 - GM Performance Decal
1 - Instruction Sheet
so im thinking I wouldn't care about stickarzzz... but is the only thing missing other than physical instructions and stickers the bolt?
Do you guys think I could order this stuff individually (total of $143.29 + shipping) and install myself with a bolt from Lowes/Home Depot and then just have the dealer flash the PCM for however much they charge to do that????
BTW, if I installed a GMS1 myself, could I drive my car to the dealership or would I need to unplug the PCM and take it there to be flashed?
Thoughts?!?! Ideas?!?! If this is doable it would make doing a GMS1 very reasonable price wise...

I may have answered my own question by reading avfan's write up of how to install a GMS1...
Looks like the instruction book holds 3 codes the dealer needs to actually install the tune. Anyone know if you can just buy this separate at the dealership? or do they really upcharge $350+ for a couple codes....

The authorization code for the GM retune is tied to your VIN when the kit is installed.
You -can- have the actual GM tune flashed to your ECM by an aftermarket tuner... but GM won't have a record or validation for it. And kiss your warranty goodbye.

OP- i dont think you can do it that way. you need to buy it from CED or a dealership. you can install the 3 bar sensors yourself, its very easy and would only take maybe an hour.
i installed the sensors myself and was easy. IF you do install the sensors yourself, when you start the car after you've installed the sensors DO NOT go into boost,if you do you will send you car into limp mode and depending on the dealership, they might charge you to clear the code. also, after you install the sensors, you only can start the car 1-2 times with the new sensors installed, the comp will notice it and will send it into limp mode
i bought my kit from CED. best price around. dealership charged me 75$ to reflash my comp.
the car runs just fine with the sensors installed, you just cant get into boost. gotta granny shift.

Thanks Tom. Assuming it's Tom. lol.
Thank you on the headlights. Everything is satin black except the shrouds, which as you can see are red. The turn signal lenses have been left untouched too. The grilles are stock but look blacker in that photo because I was standing in the bright sunny driveway shooting into a shaded garage.
