I just went through this with my stock intercooler. Blew out the end tank and the car wouldn't even start. Had the same backfire and threw codes. Ended up replacing sensors and it didn't fix it, patched the Ic till I can get a new one, car started up like brand new.

When I got a crack in my Hahn IC the car still boosted fine except for falling off a bit on the top end. Fuel trims were (obviously) drifting way off, and was the first sign until I did a boost leak test and finally found the hairline crack. The crack was enough to cause some funky issues and knock though.
I'd listen to Blazin07SS and double-check the IC. Just because you're making boost doesn't mean you don't have a boost leak. Your turbo could simply be pushing more air than the leak can let it out.
