Catted vs. Cattless DP

Couldn't find the answer I was looking for via search, so...

Now i understand, unless I don't that a Cattless will yield better results. Now I want to remain emissions happy, so will say a HAHN catted DP make me happy or any other known brand or is it catted or gtfo?

you will not pass emissions if you go catless dp without a tune. You are going to have to get a tune to disable the code but with a tune you will pass emissions only if they dont look under the car. I have worked at a shop and have never seen anyone look under the car for a cat. and you will net better gains with catless over a dp with a cat.

The better gains are probably minuscule at best, go with catted if you dont have a tune and want to stay legal or catless if you have a tune.

Save a few bucks over Hahn and get the ZZP spun metal catted DP if you want a cat, or get the catless one.

The spun metal cat tolerates high temps better than the Magnaflow one.

I would go catless because you can easily swap downpipes for emissions and catted downpipes are way more expensive for less gain.

Go catted if you're over the age of 28.

The ZZP catted does look appealing, plus it's cheaper . Btw I got a n00b question on having this baby installed. Does it bolt right up to the rest of the exhaust? Also what would be a fair price for an exhaust shop to install as I dont want to do it myself?

It's 7 bolts and and O2 sensor. There's a how-to guide on it as well. Do it yourself. It takes about 1/2 hr.

If they do an emissions check, you will not pass no matter what. The cat filters out exhaust gasses that they test for in emissions checks. Catted will never throw a CEL, but cat less may or may not, it's hit or miss. Cat less has better gains, but a catted dp will still show good gains over stock. Cat less is louder.

I plan on going catted because I'm not gonna get a tune anytime soon and I don't want to deal with CELs.

I went catted and would gladly do so again... mainly because I wanted my car to be as quite as possible...

Catless DPs are only loud at startup but goes away once you blurp the throttle

And again loud at WOT

I was untuned for a month and never through a CEL with my ZZP

I am gm stage 1 w/ hahn catted downpipe. Great dp, noticable power and sound. I recommend it if you are only staying gm stage 1 tune and have emissions.

ZZP dp ftw, damn good price better then the rest of them out there

The catless dp with stock exhaust isnt loud at all, not even at start up, some people just have virgin ears

Why would you want to have it quiet, if thats the case you mise well leave the exhaust stock and just get the gms1

ZZP Catless here.

And the car is still quiet. It only get "loud" when the wastegate opens up. And even then it isn't that bad.

During it's warm up phase is the only time it is loud. If you wanna even say that.
