cel

Now after all the non sense that my car was doing, the cel finally came on. P0236,p013e and p2261.

under acceleration the car sometimes builds boost then dies out, and sometimes backfires. starting to **** me off but thats what i get for beating the **** out of it. gotta pay to play! lol

any help would be greatly appriciated!

maybe airleaks?

P0236 = Turbo system performance
P2261 = https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/prob...-p2261-184458/
P013E = 02 sensor not reacting quickly enough if I remember correctly

Best place to start might with with the P2261 since the P0236 can be anything from that to a boost leak, bad MAP/TMAP, etc.

did these codes come on right after he installed it? or before? because I had 2 of the 3 before I got my turbo replaced a few days ago...

but if you had a CEL pop for a P2261 then take it to the dealer because there is a bulletin out for it, they will replace your BPV or the vacuum tank.

I'm assuming once that one is resolved the 0236 should just go away unless there's a leak from the installation of the turbo itself.

You sound like a lube tech. You install the O2 sensors properly? Didn't damage the element? Slow switching from rich to lean pretty much means either exhaust leak or bad sensor.

Check out that PI for the P2261, as for the P0236, a vacuum leak will set the code. Check the charge air cooler.

I bet... It's the lower sensor and make sure the vacuum line that goes to the lower charge pipe is on all the way...

ill check the PI over lunch today, and no i am not a lube tech. gm for three years then hyundai. bye bye hyundai franchise this thursday lmao. The only gm vehicles i got to screw with the last two years were basically mine. they are picky about handing out the other gm techs gravy......lmao.. anyways is there a 5v reference or a way to ohm out the sensor/spec for the sensor itself

o2 sensor seemed a bit fauled when i had it out. or however the hell it is spelled. anyways, there are no exhaust leaks at this moment. the car still reaches peak boost but doesnt always hold there. "assuming fail safe when that sensor on the charged piping takes a ****"

carbon and what not on the valves. is it safe to run seafoam or engine top cleaner through these motors>?

I'm assuming the lower sensor wires are loose. Mine did it as well till I got the connections fixed.

I shouldn't have posted in this thread. Mine threw a p0236 for the 6th time since I bought it (numerous things fixed) and after driving it hard finally set a P2261. This thing is pissing me off now. Back to the dealer yet again tomorrow I guess it may as well setup a tent there.

Blown sensor. Fixed up. The o2 sensor was fauled. Graphed the data of both o2 sensors. One stuck rich. Also checked the vacuum tank. Held vacuum and didn't bleed off. I got freakin lucky lol

CEL was still on this morning, in it went. Told the dealer about the TSB on P2261, as well as to look at the MAP, TMAP, and the boost and BPV solenoids. Since it's intermittent, my guess is a sensor or solenoid is failing the start-up diagnostic. It drove fine today, full boost, BPV was opening, turbo was fine....so I can't imagine it's anything else.
