No gains should be seen numerically, but the spool time is the same, and the car runs a LOT colder

I assumed since Hahn claimed 20hp gain all intercoolers had numerical gains.

The only way you're going to see an increase in power is if you also have your tune modified to take advantage of the cooler air. Just bolting the IC on by itself isn't going to change much power wise.

You only see those type of gains right after you install the mod, once the ecm figures out its reading more air it'll lower the power output back to stock.

Did it come with the MPx logo on the IC or did you paint it on?
I don't know if it's the angle of the pic with the bumper on but you can't really see it too good.

Does this apply for GMS1? From what I understand it disables learndown. I know GMs1 doesn't compensate for mods, but still.

GMS1 doesn't disable the learn down, it just raises it.

Well I know GMS1 just raises it, but that doesn't answer my question.

So will MPx do anything with GMS1 Tune?

Even if tuned the ecm sticks to the same hp level, you'll need to retune it to extract the gains from the mod.

with a intercooler it lowers your IAT witch in turn lower your chance of knock so you can run more timing.

The stock IC will handle anything you throw at it, unless you go with a bigger turbo setup , it will be money down the drain.IMHO

Some people on here have had problems with the plastic end tanks cracking on the stock one and needed a new one. Most of the aftermarket ones are somewhat cheaper than stock.

My stock IC was giving me a boost leak. must have been a pinhole. Stock IC is great sure but aftermarket is definitly beneficial. Its about packing the most cold air into the motor, sure stocker works good, but a more efficient and durable aftermarket for 399 is definitly beneficial and will help int he equation. Same thing goes for an intake, 400hp was made on the stock airbox. Do u need an intake? No, but its definitly beneficial. i was gonna go ZZP but it was taking forever and now looking at it i believe it may be too large for the stock baby turbo.
