Chevycobaltss3 + E47 = I Need A New Clutch
This all started last summer when I got my ass handed to me by a "lightly" modded Evo9 on GMS1...

I HATE losing. Especially to a car that didn't seem all that fast. Not long after that race, I got into ANOTHER losing battle against a mildly modded 2010 Lancer Ralliart. He too beat me and at that point I decided that I wanted to do some mods and get HP Tuned.
Well, to speed this story up, I did some research and had heard good things about a few different tuners (BYT, Area47 and Chevycobaltss3 (James)). I really didn't want to be email tuned where it would basically be one or MAYBE two emails a day with revisions. I wanted someone that would tune me live and so James ended up being my guy. I spoke to him over the phone, told him what I wanted and we were on our way. He tuned me on GMS1 w/ catless DP and AirBox mod. I was happy but I knew I wanted more. I didn't get a chance to dyno this setup unfortunately.
My birthday and Christmas rolls by and I end up with some extra cash. I knew I wanted an intercooler, charge pipe and an intake so I purchased those things and installed them during my vacation from work. Once installed, James did a revision. Lemme just say, James YOU ARE ****!
(I think he likes **** too... LOL!) He had me logging for 2 days straight ~8hrs a day. He wanted it to be PERFECT. Can't say enough about how dedicated James is to making the tune you ask for absolutely perfect. I really didn't want anything too aggressive. Just a nice mild tune until I could make the switch to E.
I decided to get a dyno appointment scheduled at the local shop. Turns out their dyno setup is sub par but I didn't realize this until it was too late. They only had ONE fan for the car and it was a serious P.O.S. So on a conservative tune with a super heat soaked engine, I made 318whp 350wtq. No too bad for a conservative tune!

Notice the waviness at the end of the pull. Stupid heat soak was causing LOTS of knock...

I was pretty happy with these results given the situation. I don't think James was though...
He made me log MORE...
After a couple hours of logging, I happened upon a very wonderful thing...
I was all...
James said, "Lets do E47." Sweeter words have never been spoken...
Immediately he sends me a base E47 file. This is a very raw, non fine tuned file that I loaded up and flashed to the car. Well after a few minutes of driving with the E mix, even this raw file was NIGHT AND DAY from the 93 octane tune. I could not believe how much of a difference it was. After another handful of hours (we were up 'til like 3am his time) the car just kept feeling stronger and faster. It felt like I gained at least 30 whp. Well I wasn't too far off...
Today, I decided to take the car up to New Berlin, WI to King Motorsports. VERY nice shop. Very clean and very professional. We *attempted* to dyno the car.
James' E47 tune had the car making so much torque, the clutch just slipped the entire time so I could only get a WHP number...

Even so... YEEHAWW!! I was VERY pleased with this number and I know there is still more to be had once I get a new clutch. So a WARNING to you all out there, if you let James tune you on E47, you WILL need a new clutch!!!
I happened to see the dood in the Ralliart the other day and lets just say, he saw my tail lights quite a bit.
I was not able to take video at King Motorsports due to "insurance" reasons...
But its all good, it basically sat on the rollers the entire time b/c we tried to get the clutch to cool off. Haha!

nice numbers man. glad to see your happy. james has been helping my buddy and i out with tuning my car too lol. very helpful person. props to him for helping so many people!!!
This is his basic setup. Tune wise.
Make sure you read it all to understand what I did his setup this way.
He's on ethanol so therefore the cooling effects and ect help with a good ramping boost. I made his boost ramp very linear and I didn't make it steep meaning just 0lbs to a straight commanded boost at wot. His boost is set to a ramping 25spik to a steady 24. I had his wot fueling at .88 and in mid range at .89-.93 . I had his timing at 24* and mid range 18-19* and tamper it to hit 24* steady. Ops maf lbs were 41-42lbs and ve was 35-37lbs. Somthing op learned was keeping the correct blend. I stayed up and I revised his tune so much because well it was remotely done but also I'm very **** about what was asked of me. So I do my best.
Thanks bro for the kind words. I appreciated them....

Same issue here (different tuner though). As soon as I switched to the corn, the stock clutch wouldn't hold for ****. Installed the Hypersingle and now enjoy every bit of the wonderful power of E85
