Cobalt down!
So I have a 2010 cobalt. I was pulling out of a gas station got on it really hard in 2nd gear. When I went to slow down in N I had a loud pop almost like a back fire and had no more boost. When I crank the car I have 10lbs in 1st 10 in 2nd till 4500 rpm's then it's like you hit a brick wall. No boost and anything above 4000 rpm its like it don't wanna go. Only codes I was getting at the time was p0101. I replaced the maf, map, turbo(for the waste gate actuator solenoid), ecu, and have switched the baro/ boost sensor for a well known good part. Now I get a code of p0101 and the turbocharger under boost. I've leak checked everything and have no leaks. I do have a catless downpipe and cold air intake on the car. Now with the tech 2 on the car it shows that boost is at 14psi(which could be the baro side) that's key on motor off or key on motor on also. Any ideas that will help

Boost leak checked it and no leaks we're found. But also the question of why is it going into mechanical boost. If there was a leak wouldn't it not build boost at all

My car did the exact same thing, I havent looked into why but i got a speed density tune from Vince and it seems to work fine now. Only thing i could guess is its the wiring to the maf sensor.
I would also put your stock airbox on and try again.

Fire, fire will fix this problem.
Seriously though hope you get it fixed buddy but I would also recheck maf because other people have been known to get bad mafs striaght out of the box.
Hope you get it fixed though Josh it sucks not having a car I know .

We need a sticky that says, "P0236 and P0101 ON A STOCK INTERCOOLER MEANS YOU BROKE THE INTERCOOLER. DON'T QUESTION IT AND DON'T TELL US YOU RAN A BOOST LEAK TEST. JUST REPLACE THE INTERCOOLER."

Sorry I was about to hit a dead zone so was typing fast lol. The boost leak pressure check showed no leak which I don't know how. But when I smoked the system(hook up on the intake off the nipple glove over the hole) in less then 3 mins I seen smoke coming out of the passenger side from below the headlight.
That's what I found. But I will say before I replaced the turbo and ECM the only code I got was p0101. On my test drive I seen this
Best I could do better then nothing
