Cobalt SS Turbo Cutout video

Installed a cutout today at the straight part of the down pipe right before the cat back begins. Mods are listed in video description.

Let me know what you all think. Remember always watch in HD even though there isn't much to watch other than the camera on a tri pod.

Don't u need back pressure for the turbo to get optimal performance?

Turbo cars run better with less back pressure.

It put down 330 WHP with the exact mods except for the cutout I would imagine it would make the same if not more power with the cutout. Best thing about it is you can always just put the cap on it and run regular exhaust.

The only power you will lose is bottom end, but you will gain top end.

it would be better if it was an electric cutout, so if you get pulled over for it, just push a button and all is good

NA cars do not need backpressure....with any motor you always want ZERO backpressure.

My NA 2.2 made an extra 9whp and 14wtq with a cut-out.

Good job on the cut-out....why every SS/TC on this site doesn't have one I'll never understand.

I like the turbo sound and the popping but the actual exhaust note sounds like trash

My car starts up fine, and my exhaust consists of 18" of 3" pipe after my header collector, after that it dumps to atmosphere.

Again it is still all-motor.

havent a few people dyno'd cutout open and closed with LNF's and found that it was like a 1hp difference which is welllll within the tolerance of the dyno... or a fly farting near the intake...

cutout sounds like trash and OMFG to the guy making 150hp with a 3" exhaust on his 2.2

why do people think this, no, turbo works much better without backpressure, na and supercharged apps want backpressure to perform better.

I would rather have my car make 330 WHP and sound like this than make 330WHP and sound like it did before. Sounded like an NA car couldn't hear the turbo at all, whats the point of driving a turbo car if it sounds like its NA?

Um, performance?

I'd rather have a dead-silent car that runs 10s that all that noise for no gain.

That way, they can still hear me laughin'...
