Crate Engine Depot vs Canada
Yup bought a used interceptor from the states guy shipped it ups I got charged with80 bucks in duties taxes and brokerage fees then like anmonth later they sent me a billfor another 80 bucks, haven't paid that one yet tho, they can suck my left nut
Yes, about the same as others have said here, though I swear mine was $60 + taxes. In any case with our dollar being above par last I checked and the parts already costing 50% from CED what they do from Canadian dealers, if you're going GMS1 you can't go wrong ordering from Tom. I swear the parts were in customs the day after I ordered and on my doorstep 2 days later
.
It depends on which person is working that day, how their coffee was in the morning and if they're in a grouch or not. Juan marked our Turbo Wax shipments as gifts and on the three occasions we've ordered, twice it got through without customs fees being applied. The one time they did charge not only did they hit me with customs but also charged me more to rip my box apart and make sure it wasn't a rocket launcher or crack I suppose. They did nicely put it back together though
. Using USPS is definitely a better option to Canada over UPS since UPS, unless ordering from R1, ruins you with brokerage. I'm not sure if you can use Purolator as an option out of the US but you could check into that and see how their rates are. In general though USPS -> Canadian Postal Service works well

If you ship USPS and claim anything as a gift it is exempt from duties and taxes up to $60, anything over a $60 declared value will be taxed and have the handling fee added as well. Just remember that when you declare a $60 value on the "gift" to make sure that you email the invoice to the customer and not put it in the box lol!
I agree, we get hosed on everything up here

Be prepared to get sent to collections. Ask me how I know lol. Takes like 3 months tho
Bought mine from CED and I plan on getting other things as well. No difference than any other place in the US. I also like using my credit card considering my paypal is on the fritz.

I don't think I've ever had to pay any duty on anything shipped USPS. You will get dinged for tax when the item shows up...not much you can do to get around that. I've ordered from a few places in Japan and avoided tax, but never the states.
