does yours look like this

Every time i change my oil/oil filter the oil filter looks deformed when i pull it out. it looks similar to the pics in this thread, https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/gene...ck-out-122792/
Is this normal, i change my oil/filter every 3000 miles very strict about doing that. What does everybody's look like similar to those pics or like a brand new filter just covered in old oil? Also i don't believe im over tightening oil cap, i just snug it up nothing crazy.

Mine has looked like that the past three times I've done it. My ic pump was out and I replaced it. I hope that's why mine was doing it but I haven't changed my oil since

are you using the oem acdelco filters?

Mine will be slightly diagonal but not bent like in the link you posted. But I use the oem acdelco ones.

its pretty normal to look like that....think about it is soaks up in oil and the filter gets wet so of course its gonna look like that.... think about taking a sheet of paper and wetting it lol but even though it does look like that it still filters the oil

Seems normal, however what type of filter you using? Pureolator PureOne will crush, I started using the mobilone filter, doesn't crush, it actually has more capacity and filtration rate, about ten dollars more, however never crushes and seems to work better.

every filter that is made like this does it i worked for ford for 2 years the 4 banger fusions have filters like ours but they are located at the bottom of the engine(pretty messy oil changes bc the cap holds alot of oil) all the fusion ones i have seen do it too like joey said its normal nothing to stress about

well their could be another reason...when people beat on the car... the oil would get hot and when it goes through the filter at a certain temperature it could affect it...but for majority of the cars that use cartridge... they all come out the same... hence why they would say 3,000 for every oil change... even thought the oil filter can only last 3,000 miles and oil can last like 10,000 miles.... in my opinion i still recommend changin it every 3,000 so the oil gets filtered and cleaned out proper not sending any dirt or deposites in the motor and doesnt affect the lubrication to the motor
