Down pipe question...yes i searched

do i need a tune right away for the down pipe?(in my sig) i know the car is not going to gain power(learn down) but am i loseing power? and also i modified the stock exhaust by removing the stock resonator and muffler....i ran straight pipe for a while and the car was too loud for me and the police..lol and the car felt slower than stock so i bought a crappy ebay muffler. the thing about the muffler is that its not made for a turbo car...is the muffler fucked? it feels really packed...my buddy told me about the slap test and when i slapped the can ti was packed compared to his muffler sounding hollow. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

1)You don't need a tune right away for the DP. You are not losing power, yet.

2)Why don't you put the stock muffler back on if you don't think the new one is hollow enough.

3)Your buddy is an idiot.

You start losing power on a stock tune as soon as the learn-down feature kicks in. You'll just be back down to stock power levels, though.

Even with no tune at all on a bone stock car, an upgraded downpipe will be good for about 10whp give or take a few. Trust me.

Trust me, it's not hurting performance in any way. A catback will see minimal gains since the stock exhaust is so well flowing...but you will see a noise increase obviously.

Yes...but it should be resolved today with the new BOV with the stronger spring in it

I had no intentions of running a BOV initially if you read through my "Goodies came in the mail" thread. But yeah I'll post pics tonight after I get the re-install complete don't worry. The install of the BOV wasn't the hard part...it was getting the new Charge pipe on the lower tube...now that was hard.

This is because our most restrictive area when breathing is in the DP. That's right not 1 but 2 cat converters.

Yeah the only reason I bought zzp's catback was because I sold them my TVS from my old ss/sc

So I had to use the money somewhere and the dp was only 240 so I just bought their catback to use up some of the money

I also wanted something a little louder, I can still go louder because its really not that loud but I do like the way it sounds, alot so I'm happy

And you haven't even really had a chance to see if you like a BOV yet.
