Arrow Dual Disk Clutch Research Almost Complete!

Hi everyone! I am very excited to report that my team is about to fit a dual disk clutch in my LNF cobalt ss. I got a LSJ Flywheel to make measurements and everything looks very promising but I need to know if the LSJ and LNF flywheels are Identical, if not, then I need to know what are the differences. I will post pictures and video for the install.

No, this is something else, we have been researching for a while now and we have now the right combo. We are making some final confirmations and if both flywheels are identical or at least compatible with each other, we will be installing/documenting everything once we start the installation!

clutchmasters makes a twin disk for the LSJ. it's possible that it might work on the LNF as well since it comes with the flywheel and everything

i would imagine it would work just fine considering the GMPP clutch upgrade for an LSJ is a LNF clutch isnt it? also everyone upgrades to the LNF TOB too... Clutchmasters doesnt list either of their twin disks for the LNF... hmm... i wonder what the deal is?

*edit* just emailed them to find out lol

more clamping force so it doesn't slip, they have better drivability than a regular heavy duty single plate clutch.

cons: loud at idle, wear quickly

idk if they wear all that quickly, i think people just cant drive... my buddy has a exedy twin in his GTO and its got 60K miles or more on it and a NUMBER of street tire passes on 19's as well as a record setting pas for a bolt on LS1 GTO... it had been in two cars prior to that and its dead quiet at idle, you dont hear the floater plates banging around... now in my buddies Del Sol it has some LOUD floater plates that bang the whole time the clutch is in ...

This setup is very different, once we have finish the product I will talk with the moderator of this site to ask permission to show/sell this upgrade once we are sure that the upgrade will not have any issues

Who does "we" consist of?
We are Professional Auto, from Juncos, Puerto Rico. We are currently working on 2 Cobalt SS LNF. We want to make the fastest Cobalt possible, in our pursuit of this goal, we are researching new components for the Cobalt SS. Although we have only worked with LNF engines for now, we are also interested on developing upgrades for the LSJ.

What's the advantage of a twin disk clutch setup?
1. Your clutch pedal will feel like stock, because of this you do not need to upgrade your throw out bearing (this is in theory and needs to be confirmed when the upgrade is tested).
2. This set up will weight less than any single clutch set up, because of this the engine will rev faster.
3. The torque is applied in 2 stages as you apply your clutch, this benefits the transmission.
4. This will be the only clutch you would need, we have not rated how much torque it will hold more than 500 for sure

I just want to point out that the LSJ flywheel and LNF flywheel are not the same. LNF flywheel is smaller. I dont remember the reasoning behind so that is all I could tell ya.

cmiller8006, could you confirm if the LSJ flywheel will fit the LNF engine? Its just that we happen to have a LSJ flywheel available for alterations but if its different then I would have to take out the tranny and get the LNF flywheel so please let me know

sounds like you'd want to use the LNF flywheel anyways if its smaller...

As far as the flywheel size wise I am not sure. I know that you can buy a clutchmasters twin disk and use it for the lnf.

not bashing or trying to start anything. but if you have two LNF's right there and are trying to develop parts for them, specifically the clutch... why not look at their flywheels? instead of trying to search and guess??
