Dual exhaust?!
Quick question go all the cobalt pros. I saw a dual exhaust SS on the streets the other day and it looked BADASS! I personally am a fan of dual exhaust & I even think the SS LsJ stage 2 or 3 came with it. Now my question is, if I do that to my LNF will thst be an advantage or disadvantage? I'm already running straight pipes, adding another pipe going a different location help or won't make a difference??
thanks in advance!

I'm an LSJ owner but have a pretty good background in general car knowledge thanks to my dad. Since yours is an LNF I'm not completely sure, but from what I know all the dual exhaust would do is add a little bit of weight and visual effect. Since a 4cyl only has one header, it only needs one tail pipe. If it was V6 or V8 with 2 headers then true dual exhaust would be a definite upgrade. So I think all dual exhaust would do for our cars is be a cosmetic upgrade from a Y-pipe and an extra muffler.
I know I've seen turbo guys on here talk about backpressure in the exhaust so I'm not sure what dual outlet would do to the back pressure. I've never owned a turbo car so they would have to tell you the effects it would have for an LNF.
I don't believe dual was a Stage upgrade for LSJs but I know SLP made the Loudmouth 2 for the Cobalt which gave it dual outlet. I personally love the look but I'm not a fan of cutting bumpers and whatnot. Plus it's ungodly loud lol. But as long as a turbo guy doesn't say it would hurt HP I would go for it!

IMO if it doesn't have a function it is fake anyway. May as well go all the way fake and save money.
Edit: IMO= In My Opinion. I'm not saying if it doesn't have function it is literally fake, I am saying it may as well be. I'm not a big believer in cosmetic gimmicks that don't actually improve function/performance.

If exhaust comes out of the tip, it's not fake.
I prefer dual tips and there are a lot of 4 cylinders with dual tips. It's one of my long term projects but want a fascia to accommodate it. There are even some split header designs if you really want dual all the way back but most are doing something like this.

Oh boy.....
And no the stage kit cobalts never offered a dual exhaust. If you're bolt on with tvs 2.5 is fine. Turbo do a 3 inch. Stay single on both builds.

Thank you all for your words of wisdom and opinions.
I honestly think it will look beastly will dual exhaust, I could careless about a bumper, at the end of the day it's a bumper lol. I recently got hit from the back so I'll do my own cutout and see how it looks before I get the new one next week. Ima check out different shops and see pricing on it. I'm not in a rush to do it and haven't decided fully if Ima do it but it's definitely an idea I'm flirting with.
At the end of the day it's all about making your car stand out, drive smooth and go fast. Dual exhaust definitely lands in that category.
Thanks again. Will post up photos if it happens
