Education request; LTFT, Spark Plug, K&N

Hey guys,

I had stock plugs in gapped at .030 to help combat spark blow out, but I got the urge to put it to .032 today and broke one of the tips. Nobody locally had AC Delco so I put in Autolites and put them in at .040 and they were recommended to go to .043

Okay now before I did that my LTFTs with my ZZP intake tube and airbox mod were -0.7.

Then I bought a K&N intake and they shot up to +11.7 regardless of filter rotation (waiting on Vince to tweak tune)

Put these autolites in and my LTFT's dropped down to +4.6

I have zero misfires and my AFR went from 11.9 (delco's gapped at .030) to 12.2 (autolites) at WOT

Will you guys please educate me on why my results are the way that they are so I can have a better understanding of what's happening.

I appreciate it

02's are seeing less complete combustion (more fuel in the exhaust) and leaning it out. Go back to stock Delco's or NGK 5476 (same plug as stock)

Positive LTFT's carry over into the PE richening it up more on most ECU's so your WOT is leaner after it pulled fuel from the LTFT's with the Autolites.

The factory does this so you don't go too lean...ever. Negative LTFT's will not pull PE fuel either.

Stock plugs on Vince's rich tunes IMO, get the intake (MAF) tuned correctly.

Your level of boost with an .040 gap is asking for spark blowout.
