Egt

i am getting an egt for my car so when i tune i can keep a close eye on temps, consider someone i know did not and blew 3 out of 4 rings hahaha.
my question is what is limit where the temperature is safe and meets the dangerous level?

On the lnf? Cot protection should take care of any high exhaust temps.

^^ a lot of the time tuners disable that though since it throws performance away to save the cat.

depends on fuel.

there is no "OK" temp and there is no "BAD" temp.

its all fuel related as your fuel octane determines how much cylinder air mass you can run, thus effecting EGT.

Agreed. It also depends on your A/F ratio. If you are tuned or running a big turbo your A/F should be around 12.5 -12.8 at WOT. That will help keep your egts in check. Tuners should disable the COT only if you are catless if not you are asking for trouble.

there are some "bad" temps. if your over 3,000*, i'd say thats a pretty bad temp, since ***** gonna start melting....literally...lol. But yea, I understand what ur saying, im just being an ass
