so after my dyno run monday my solstice has been sounding like a Subaru, it just wasnt right, after i got back from the dyno i pulled the plugs to see what was going on, and the #2 coil disintigrated as i removed it from the head. i thought that was the cause of the strange sound for sure, but today after i replaced the coil it was still doing it, so i decided to pull the valve cover and see what i could see, and shure as $hit, the lifter for one of the #1 exhaust valves had broken off and the cam follower was laying in the head. i replaced the lifter and now no more subaru.

it was acting really wierd on the way to the dyno so i think i dynoed with a broken lifter, and broken meth injection, now i dont feel as upset that it made 330hp 360tq @5400. now i just need to figure out why its breaking up after 5400rpm. im tuning spark plug gaps right now. .032 is what im trying now. ill see how that works. then i gotta fix the meth

 

Sucks about the lifter, heard of a few LNFs this has happened to. Still good numbers for being broken though.

 

i agree, now posted a picture, good thing i have an lsj head on the shelf in the garage to steal a lifter from.
