esc issue

i have the code c460 steering angle position sensor circuit open. it comes back immediately when i clear it, the tech says i have a short, im not sure if i hit the sensor and broke it and alldatapro doesnt give any wiring information about that sensor. any ideas how to go about it? the scanner i used has the capability to relearn that sensor but idk if trying it could mess anything up :/

Circuit open and short are not the same thing, sound like you probably have a broken wire, bad connection, or the sensor is broken internally.
