I just traded in my 06 ss/sc for a 09 ss/tc. I have read alittle here and there so far about the lnf's. But owning one now I am trying to read as much as I can. But im alittle confused. And I havent seen the answers to my questions any where yet. So , what exactly is the stock redline for the lnf ? And , if someone has the gms1 kit and the retune . Does that raise the stock rev limit at all ? And lastly, I would like to get a bov ?? Or bpv ?? Which ever is more appropriate for a bone stock lnf. Which is proper for our car where it reserculates ? I dont want to buy one that will harm the car. Where and which one do i get ? and how much are they. Just as long as I dont have to tune the car for just the bov ? I MAY get gms1 at some piont. But not right now.
Thanks all...
Thanks all...

I thought from what I have read that the lnf's learn down feature would interfear with having a cold air intake ?

working on turbo cars is actually easier than working on a supercharged car imo, no pulleys or belts to deal with. Modern Performance has them. It's simply held in by 3 bolts, but you'll need to take the intake to get to it.
Honestly stay away from the GMS1 tune, too expensive for what you get. Trifecta tune or HPTuners. If you are looking to do bolt ons i suggest the following in this order
Tune - HPtuners or Trifecta
ZZP downpipe - catless or catted your choice
K&N SRI
Your choice of exhaust - i prefer MPx and ZZP
Pedders springs
Intercooler/chargepiping
You will have a great and decently fast car.

forge took me 5 minutes to install today. picked it up last night. i dont really notice much of a difference in sound from the stock bpv. i just picjed it up cause i heard it was a little louder than stock, and im not sure i believe it.
It's really not, only reason to get it really is because it can't tear like the stock one can. I never noticed much of a sound difference. It just seems like the sound lasts longer.
ye i basically picked it up for potential of more sound, and in hopes that when i get tuned i can hold boost. i know the stock one is good too, but ive just heard of some tearing so this was a good deal, got it used and works just fine. dont know if they all come with both springs but this one did too.

What exactly do you mean by tearing ? And how would I know if my stocker was torn ? that kinda conserns me...
The rubber diaphragm can tear. Like get a small crack in it. If the car is working fine than your stock one is fine. You'd be throwing a cel if the stock one was torn. It doesn't happen very often
It costs 3-4 times what someone with hp or trifecta would cost. It has added parts and GM has to worry more about long term reliability due to the warranty and it had to pass emissions.
You likely will get more power out of the hp and trifecta tunes also. But no warranty and you are trusting the tuner knows what he is doing.
Which ever you choose do your homework before you pick. They all have pros and cons.

I think the Forge bpv does make a different sound... well rather it likes to make certain noises more than the rubber diaphragm. I find my forge likes to panda sneeze way more than pshhhhh. On top of that, when it does psssshhh, theres an audible difference from the rubber diaphragm one. I start with the factory one with a k&n intake and thats really the only way you may notice a change in sound.

So a k&n cai or sri ? Do they mess with the cars fuel trims at all ?
i wanted to hold onto my warranty for a little while longer and went with GMS1. if you do go with GMS1 definatly get it from CED,its a no brainer.
as stated above both GMS1 vs. Trifecta/HPtuners have pros and cons.
it was like 550$ for the CED kit (cant remember off the top of my head) and i installed the sensors myself. reflash took about 30-45min and was 100$
my buddy owned a SS/TC had full bolt ons with the hahn ppg tuner. took it to the track and blew out 3rd gear. took it to the dealership (same one i go to) and took the hahn tune off before hand. dealership didnt ask any questions. but a good friend of mine and my buddy who blew out his tranny works at the dealership. some dealerships say they can find and after market tune but do they look?? who knows.

I, too, did GMS1 while my car was under warranty, plus I did K&N CAI while I was at it, and I have no regrets - the added power and small tweaks was def worthwhile, and I'm planning on either hiding a better tune or getting hp tune on top of that - so I can swap back when my woman drives the car
. I think in that case GMS1 is worth the money if you want a decent shot of power and you want to stay well within GM's good graces.
Learn down is not there for GMS1 or aftermarket tune, so CAI works decent with a tune, plus you get the added noise - I won't be worrying about doing aftermarket bov until I'm more radical with the other parts and tune. The CAI does mess with the trims - particularly depending on exactly which CAI you go with.
