When I first got my kit put in, my car wouldn't boost more than 125kpa, now my car boosts 140-145kpa and sometimes, it seems to pull hard and other times it doesn't. It's confuesing.

If you load third gear at low RPM, you cause the clutch to slip from all the torque being applied via boost, with no RPM. This is hard on the rods, too.

just gotta drill the cap and put compressor fitting in it, or I may even try a valve stem

yea its the mechanical boost guage, no rpd on mine. Also this is crazy. I cant get the dealership to look at the car cause there is no CEL. This problem is soooooo bad it should be throwing codes all over the place! The fluttering has gotten ridiculous to the point when Im in gear cruising it feels like someone trying to start out in 1st gear who doesnt know how to drive manual. The car bucks ridiculous, the boost is all weird when it does make the full 20 pounds. ARRRGGGHHH! I cant believe the guys who developed the STG1 kits havent had any issues yet.

I think this was part of my problem some of the time. It doesn't smooth out untill 4-4.5k rpm. I still want to get everything checked though for the other problems.

The stock boost gauge is not mechanical.

It is likely an installation issue. It will not always throw a code depending on what the issue is.

ok good cause I have the stocker. I mean not good your intercooler had the holes, and not good you haven't found the problem, but it is still the same problem I am having so whenever one of us figures it out......hopefully it will all be the same issue.

The weird thing is right after I got the stage 1 kit installed, it ran fine for about 7K miles, like no issues whatsoever.

got another one with the same issue. 5 psi at WOT...car felt real sluggish pulling away from a stoplight this sunday, so i gave it some more gas and all i got was 5 psi. great job GM. Going to the dealer on Saturday to make them check it out. Checked my charge piping connections from turbo to intercooler and everything. Checked the TMAP sensors. all fine. now its running perfectly too. i hate this.

Loose connection somewhere or a chaffed wire grounding out periodically would explain the intermittent isues you guys are having.

Maybe the issue is from a bad connection on the butt splice crimp wire connectors in the kit.

I soldered & heat shrunk all mine.

I agree this is the most likely thing causing the problems.

Yeah, I think mine are just connected by the butt connectors and then taped up

How can I get the dealer that installed mine to agree to even look at this with no CEL on? The whole reason I had the dealer install mine was so I would be compliant with the 5yr/100K powertrain warranty without question whatsoever and its backfiring.

I agree but I can't find anything and I looked at the connections and splices really good and they're all heat shrunk, soldered and all that crap. They look pretty solid to me. I might give it another go 'round and see if I didn't miss something. And/or just have them look at it whenever I can find time to take it in.

backfiring as in dealer installed...there is an issue...and dealer wont even look at it. not literally backfiring.
