Congrats on the buy! Best mod I've done for my car so far without a doubt!

The torque curve for the ZFR is a lot more forgiving then the stock turbo actually. You don't have to be as conservative as a lot of people like to believe.

Congrats. Expect to have a trans upgrade some time soon! Its inevitable. Haha.

make sure u get the nickel antiseize and put it on every bolt when u install. and have another car ready just in case u need parts. I needed a manifold to turbo stud since I stripped mine cause gm dealer did not antiseize when they had last removed the turbo. Canadian tire where I lived had exactly what I needed thank God. oh yes and if u have bad fuel injector seals that are no their last leg, u will find out once u got turbo on and running at high psi. if u get misfire and a lot of backfire, that's ur issue. that's what happened to me.

im kinda thinking i should of ordered the extended tip on it cause i have injen chargepipe and kinda thinking it wont fit.... anyone have any trouble with that

gotcha.. well im already tuned on zzp and going to install this asap and then head up to zzp any recommendations on drive ability?

Wert842 05-18-2014 07:07 PM

Better order the extended coupler. It won't fit with the small injen coupler. Even then my injen cp was a complete pita with the zfr. Ended up just getting a zzp upper cp.

little late for that ill just have to get the zzp upper charge pipe but will the stock one work for now

justabalt 05-18-2014 07:25 PM

could i just install a longer coupler for the time being or just throw the stock one on ... would that make a difference in power with the stock charge pipe?

Wert842 05-18-2014 07:55 PM

I guess the stock one would work but you'd have to rig something up to allow for the 3-4" difference of inlet length of the stock turbo to the zfr connecting to the pipe.

tomj77 05-18-2014 08:13 PM

Extended tip would be easier to attach coupler, but extended coupler works fine, it's really long so u can cut it to what u need

You should've got the welded extension. Mine was bolt on and go, although i did have to clock the compressor housing a bit once it was in, but ran with stock charge pipes for a week, then got the zzp upper.

DCsnow1000 05-19-2014 07:22 AM

Goodluck with it. I am loving mine so far!

alerosaint 05-19-2014 09:38 AM

Did anyones zzp upper cp lined back up to put the mounting bolt back in? After I installed the zfr it wouldn't line up

DCsnow1000 05-19-2014 09:40 AM

May have to trim your coupler? Mine fit back in just fine.

Double check is seated in the lower coupler correctly as well?

justabalt 05-19-2014 11:19 PM

zzp fixed it for me and there sending me the extended tip !! zzp is awesome and has great customer services!!
