yeah really... EVERYONE will make a mistake once...

i have seen some charts of the BEST hp tuners on this site... and i have seen some that will go full on mid range power, and i have seen some that will even send the wrong tune to the guy... seen some crazy ass shiizzz... but everyone makes mistakes. even vince at trifecta. my tune is fine. i like it. no problems yet.

Just curious, I don't have trifecta or anything, but if you know how/why trifecta tunes are so bad or not the best why is someone else tunning your car and not you?

^because people don't actually know how to tune it themselves... Me for example, all i can do is change fuel cells... other than that never attempted to tune a car before... i tuned my friends civic si turbo with a greddy tune kit thing.

i know what the logs/charts are supposed to look like tho. but i'd rather have trifecta tune my car then me try and learn on my own car

Im not a tuner, I do however know how to look and compare graphs to see what a good tune should look like and the powerband on that car looks like one of them work out machine thats doing the power burn hill climb.

Exactly my point, it seems most people that bash trifecta, see one graph on here or hear something and automatically the power band is crap or the tune is junk. Hence why I was curious as to why he doesn't tune his own car since he seems to know about trifecta tunes.

For the ease and not needing someone else to do it for you, OP I would go for trifecta with minor bolts on and moderate power.

Not denying THAT graph is crap, it jumps all over the place.

Oh gawd here we go with this HPT vs TF tune business again.

I've had ZZP canned HPT tune, Trifecta, and 2 different HPT Tuners tune my car. They are all good on their best day IMO.

I personally don't think you can go wrong with whatever decision you go with

A question about the Trifecta tune... It seems that only the budget tune ($200) would come in under $300, which is our budget (oh irony). Wouldn't that mean paying $300 for any retunes later on down the road? Or am I missing something?

I hesitate to get the budget tune because that's essentially saying that I'm going to waste $200, or never mod the car again. I don't really want to make a commitment to either of those.

Edit: Going off of the info on this page: http://www.trifectaperformance.com/specials.aspx

Yeah, the budget tune you can't log it or change it. Basically load and go and that's all you get. If you want to modify it, you have to pay $300 on top of what you already paid.

With the ZZP Canned tune, you can have any schmuck with a HPTuner upgrade you later. So it can be a better investment.

with the trifecta budget tho you do a few datalogs with the mods you currently have. after a few logs once vince makes sure everything is good to go. he will not touch your car anymore haha.. not for free atleast.

Thought the MPx with the muffler is pretty quiet too?

It is pretty quiet. That's why I have one haha. It appears though that this TurboXS is even quieter by video comparison.

Haha gotcha. The reason I always ask these questions is to get as much experience from everyone as I can. Video clips of exhausts really aren't all that accurate. Gotta hear them in real life. I've been torn between the two of them for a while now haha.

I can't confirm it, but I heard someone say once that most of the 3" exhausts for the TCs sound very similar.

I got my ss a couple months ago and to my surprise it had a trifecta tune. I feel in love with the car right away once I figured it was the cruise control button.

the car was stock with no mods except that tune. I have to say it is hella fast with just a tune. u would love the car with a tune first but normally u want a tune once u have mods done.

in ur case sounds like u wont spend too much on the car so I would go witj just a tune. ur car might act up with N intake or dowmpipe without a tune.
