Freezing shift cable
Freezing shift cable
Anyone else experience this before?
I've replaced this cable once before. The one that allows movement north/south into each gear.
It's been fine all year. This morning it went below freezing (27f) and the Damn thing froze. The other is just fine.
Any easy solutions? White lithium grease? WD40 (water displacement)?

hahah I hate this crap. I remember it every year. All I do is get ready for work a half hour earlier, go out and turn the car on and wait 20 minutes with the cup holder out. If im really desperate, I will use good old fashion body heat and try to warm up the cables with my hands.
Move a minimum of one state south.
Edit: So I woke up this morning to 25 degree temps and a bad case of Karma.
**** was frozen. Had 1 and 2 so I had to push the car backward and drive to work in second gear. FUN
