Yep, He's the guy who designs the kits...We meet him and a few other GM Performance engineers at the CED Midwest Cobalt meet this past April 08.

I talked one on one with him for over an hour about all sorts of things...He's a nice guy, easy to talk to.

Here's a I took of him driving a twin charged covertable Cobalt SS.

That car was at autorama last year. I guess a bunch of High school kids helped build it.

That is pretty cool! I bet all the people who said "No way they will ever release stage kits for the SS/TC " feel super smart right about now.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the 09s are already setup for this since they have the newer OS because the 08s are getting a new OS and a tune for the kit, but I think the 09s only will need the tune...I could be wrong

Well, I knew the 09's had the different OS, but I "heard" around here that the CARB was holding it up or something like that... But if they are making it for the 08's, than the 09's should definately have it available too.

I didn't know that they are converting the 08's to the new OS... I haven't heard anything on that.

yeah the 08s need the new OS so it will recognize the values above 255kPa but then again, I don't think the 09s can recognize above 255kPa either...All I know is the tune includes new Maps for the higher boost levels

Yea, I know the "package" includes the new sensors, & the tune, so it can recognize above that 255kPa value. That's about all I know. I know ****!

So with these new sensors we will see our cars able to push 25psi with just a tune?

I'm curious to see if there is now a set boost level or if the computer remians like the stock form constantly adjusting to keep the horsepower and torque the same. IF it doesn't then with the kit and bolt on you should see big hp off of stage one...

Sorry, I can not give out any information on future products.
damit!! OH WELL

He stated this kit gets the MOST power ("The turbo upgrade kit for the Solstice GXP, Sky Redline, and HHR SS was designed by General Motors Engineers to get the most power possible out of the LNF Turbo engine.") Soooo does this mean, any bolt ons after this kit runs the risk of messing stuff up, or does that mean there will be NO performance gains from anythng else, OR is he dumb? lol

If it remains STOCK, then yes

If you get the kit and then also tune it then you will see even MORE gains, just like people now with tunes, they are seeing higher #s then this kit

so your saying if I get this kit, a few bolt ons, (intake dp exhaust) then retune it I will see nice gains, but if I just do bolt ons with this kit and no tune I see nothing, but doing so either way I lose warrenty? Do I get it ? lol

Another GM engineer on the solstice forums was saying that the new GM tune will, use any additional bolt ons. Apparently they released the "learn down" feature that is on the cars stock...

And EDIT...

this guy as well
