the only thing you have to watch out for is if he can stage that gto. if you see the ass of that car squat at the line, it will be along day. if your going to race on the street make sure you dont launch as hard as you would at the track. Lower the tire pressure also( i know that everyone knows that) just reminding you. if you can go to auto zone and by some spring blockers for the rear of your car. you might need to cut out the blockers alittle so they fit. but other than that just watch your rpms, and dont worry about were he is.

I say you work on getting the car to hook. There is no way that thing will be able to run from a 40-50 roll without killing the tires. Some 245/40/18 MT radials on the stock rims, engine mounts, drag bags, front end limiters and so on would do wonders for the car.

Log with Vince or hit up Term or BYT for an HP tune with the pill mod. You can go wrong with any of them and I feel the car will def pick up power vs the off the shelf tune.

Also, take the spare out, run with a 1/4 tank of gas(good gas...maybe even a gallon or two of some 110 being you're pushing 26psi), remove the wing if it's a high rise, jack up the rear tire pressure and lower the front, yadda yadda yadda. There is so many little tricks to racing that seperates two of the "same" cars.

well mounts will help put ur power on the wheels to the ground, so in theory you will spin more, but u will be eliminating wheel hop, and poly trans mounds and ingalls ETD will work wonders for your car, it did for mine.

take out the back seats, spare tire, passenger seat, stock sub, any subs that you might have, the trunk carpet, heck if its not that big of a deal even take the door panels... never race with the AC on and also pull your windows up, get as low gas as possible, make sure to use the NLS that we have... etc etc etc...

look at my kill list, all those were with full bolt ons and a tune with 30psi...

x2

With some sticky tires you'll eliminate the car spinning.

The drag bags are two air bags in the rear of the car used to prevent weight transfer to the rear of the car under WOT. When you hit on it the front lifts and puts the weight on the rear of the car...the whole reason why fwd isn't the best platform for drag racing. The bags prevent the rear from dropping and keep some of the weight on the front helping with traction.

Front end limiters - i'm still new to this fwd thing but my honda friends find ways to strap down the front coil springs to prevent them from rising on launch. I've seen chains strapped from the frame to the top of coil springs and whatnot.

I agree with all of the above but advise against the NLS when you're pushing out a decent amount of power. Yeah it may work for so and so...but it only takes 1 time to kill the trans. The 340++ wtq you guys are putting down is bound to break something with NLS.

There was a 22WHP difference between my initial tune and final tune. It takes more than one to get it just right.

took me about 10 to 13 data log/emails with vince to fine tune mine, but it was WELL worth the effort.

my clutchmasters is working great, but I will say the engine mounts do make MORE wheel spin

Quick Reply: gotta big race coming up help me make my car faster!!!
