Hahn CAI Flaw Solved!

I believe I solved the PCV hose problem on the Hahn CAI. I simply bought some 3/4'' heater hose from a parts store and same size gear clamps. I left the tube that Hahn supplies on the intake and slid the hose over it and the bolt. Its been on for 3 weeks and it hasn't moved. Cost me about $3.00CAD. Check it out. Any questions, just ask.

People have had problems with the hose popping off the intake.

There is nothing for the stock PCV hose to grab onto like the stock nipple. The Hahn nipple is smooth. Mine came off after a couple of days. Now its not going anywhere.:twothumbs

I fixed mine by lengthening the nipple with a piece of 3/8" steel fuel line (autozone) and some compression fittings...I tried writing to Hahn but they are insisting that the problem is my fault (regardless of the fact that there have been numerous complaints about the nipple)...

All Bill has to do is read all the damn threads and posts about people complaining. I know mine comes off all the damn time, and will be using your method or the OP's to fix it.

My Dejon had the same issue. I removed the whole stainless line and replaced it with 3/8" heater hose and two hose clamps. Problem solved. :twothumbs

i made a new thread about this problem that hahn wants to see, so go add ur storys to the list. if u got the hahn or had the hahn intake

sheldon729 05-18-2009 03:28 PM

mine doesnt pop off and it seals nicely. But i did use a different mount rather then that stupid rubber one. u made a steel spacer instead of the rubber. i had issues of it rubbing where it passes through the hole into bumper

It shouldn't be a problem to begin with. I am waiting to see what GMs intake looks like with the stage 1 kit before I make a decision.

I dont know why, but I havent had any problem with my Dejon. I just made sure I forced it onto the intake nice and tight, as far as it would go, and I havent had a problem.

UltraMagnus86 05-21-2009 06:01 PM

how big of a problem is it if the pcv valve is not connected to the intake

HB_SS/TC 05-21-2009 06:04 PM

I'm glad my AEM intake includes proper fitting the the pcv hose
