HAHN charge pipe+Boost leak?

As some of you may know I put HAHN charge pipes in the other day and I guess everything was reading fine(just did a quick sprint up the street) but I went for a good drive today and noticed it was only reading 50ishKpa(7psi)? I know when I had the stock pipes on it was reading higher and haver a bit of É-googlÉ I read that it's supposed to be around 15ps so I fiddled with the couplings, moved the piping and after lots of messing about I STILL couldn't get it to hold the proper amount of boost.

I've taken the Charge pipes out and put the stock one back in and am reading around 90 (ish) kpa (it's a cold cold day)

where the hell could the boost leak be happening with the HAHN kit? I tightened the living @#$@ out of the T-clamps that it came with... the part that connects to the I/C never seemed quite right, always on an angle, but still, I tightened the hell out of that coupling... as far as it could go.

is anyone able to take a pic of how the HAHN charge pipe connects to the hot side I/C? mine was on an angle and couldn't get it to attach in a linear fashion like the stock on did.

lol yeah.. well I got the C/P and intake for a hell of a deal..the intake was only used for a summer and the CP were only on for a month till Orig.Owner sold the car and took them off..they look new from the box.

The intakes working great and I'm not experiencing the A/C line rub that I've heard about.

But no, not CELS at all.... I should also note that I didn't install the Cold side piping yet, it's been the factory pipe the whole time

I know some people have trouble with the coupler that connects the upper with the turbo itself..

What about your fuel trims? They are usually a good indicator

Except I know most intakes throw the LTFT off quite a bit.

like the one tht actually attaches to the turbo? it's weird because I tightened all the T-clamps with an Air wratchet then took a wrench to them till they were on the last thread..all the rubber couplers appear to be in good shape to, no holes or tears....

Yeah some companies make upgraded and longer ones to be safe. Not saying this is your problem since you are tightening well, but sometimes overtightened isn't good either could bend something creating a gap and a leak

I thought your car was unmolested before you bought it!

Sounds like your in Limp mode. I've had it kick into limp mode without any dash lights appearing(5 psi on wet days). Ended up being the MAP sensor in the cold tubing. Free fix under warranty.

lol it was, but I got an intake(LOVE the way this thing sounds with it!!) and the guy just gave me the charge piping with it... guess he thought it was all one piece I dont know, he was pretty clueless about it all lol. Regardless, the HAHN piping is in the garage until I figure out the issue, possibly fiddle with it once it's warmer out, the Stock CP is back in and all's good.

Oh and Shane I didn't put the cold side in, the factory cold side hasn't been touched so it can't be that sensor as I've replaced the hot side back to stock and the issues gone.

But I guess I'll just muck around with it once the weathers warmer, I will be getting the car tuned in the summer and want that charge piping once I do

On a side note, why do people say HAHNS intake fitment sucks? mine fits with no issue and clears the A/C line

My Hahn intake is bad figment. Bought the car with it installed.. So it could of been the person who installed it, but i never fiddled with it. I bought a k&n waiting for it to come in, will be selling my Hahn intake shortly lol

lol thats just so weird I dont get it... I should take a good pic and post it up, mine fits just fine, had to pull the maf down a little but thats about it. I've seen pics of the intake mashing the A/C line... but mine doesn't

I wanted a K&N originally as well but for the price I figured what the hell, and if a K&N comes up(near me..shipping) I'll just buy it and sell the HAHN intake

Ironically my Hahn intake rubs my Hugh service port of my ac.. Pretty annoying.. And it did rub the part of the motor bay down around the filter, and it would sound bad sometimes as the car ran, girlfriend thought something was really wrong and kept telling me to have someone check it out but I knew what it was so one day I just moved the screw on the side of the motor bay a bit and it was gone... But yeah its gonna be gone and for sale soon... Lol

I'll have to take a pic of mine.. I guess I'm the only one here with a proper fitting hahn intake

..... well like I said, this was a good price and in fantastic shape...but then again if a K/N comes for sale NEAR ME(shipping is rape) I'll just get it and just sell the one I have now, but for now I'm quite happy, it sounds great and I'm sure I'll get the charge pipes figured out... all thats left now is DP and a tune

noooo, that's the one thing police around here seem to care about... you can paint your windows black, paint your tailights flat black and chop the muffler off your civic but go catless and they're all over ya....plus IMO it smells like boat exhaust and I just can't be bothered for the minimal gains, I'll probably just get the high flow catted option.

still smh and lol about people saying Hahn is junk...charge pipes almost 6 years and I live near Galveston Tx...AIR IS FULL OF SALT ON THE ISLAND. I work there and no issues with rusty charge pipes. My Hahn intake, two years NO issues. no rubbing no weird noises, spot on fitment. IC almost 6 years old and no end tank explosions. installed my s20g installed this week with hahns blow off valve system...working great. am I lucky or installing parts correctly??

hate to sound like a fan boy(as I can argue all the zzp fan boys/girls if I get called out)but a company with over 20 years of turbo charging MULTIPLE plat forms including motorcycles, setting track times with basic mods(I know zzp did it too), can't be producing "junk" and only a few people getting quality parts...just saying....

Either you got lucky, or you aren't noticing the issues.

Maybe your tuner did a good job tuning out the issues of the Hahn intake. it had the worst fuel trims of almost any intake on the stock or GMS1 tune.

while my car was down for the turbo swap, I looked inside all my piping due to the OP advice and others comments-no rust found. I have been trifecta tuned by vince and so far, no issues. I guess call me lucky lol...

I just want to say yeah its pure luck with Hahn parts...

Its common sense. Their parts are made of steel, steel clearly rusts..

You'd think they'd be smart enough to know that and make use the less cost cutting material and use a quality material for the outrageous prices they have..

Just my 2 cents

Upgrade to forge? Or you have someone that doesn't have the problem and swap with them to try it out
