HAHN vs. Injen vs. AEM vs. K&N

I'm looking into buying a CAI for my 09 Cobalt SS t/c. I heard that Injen was the best for the s/c but no recommendations for the t/c. Any recommendations? What is the price range for the HAHN? Can't really find a place to buy HAHN online. Thanks in advance!

K&N seems to be the new route to go. I have Hahns because it was the best at the time I guess...I love mine and have no issues with it...

What's the difference? Just out of curiosity. Also, I've been told that it's not worth it to get a CAI without a tune and exhaust but I can't afford that right now. Is that true or it's still worth it to get a CAI and upgrade later?

What are the differences, if any, between them?

Ltft and stft are the difference. Get the intake and no tune = fucked up fuel trims that can eventually lead to gas mileage, poor performance and maybe even a broken car.

The BPV sound from the K&N is very prevalent from my experience. The IAT's are also very close to a cold air intake setup and the spool time is quick as well.

the main difference between the k&n and hahn is that the k&n is a short RAM intake pulling air from inside the engine bay area where is hahn is a cold air intake and hangs down lower pulling cooler air from below. Like people are saying...u will need to tune. This isn't something u can just slap on...well u can, but ur car.might not like u...lol

I got K&N intake and its pretty good. I will say though there is a new intake coming out by BYT, BackYardTurbo, and its a "stealth" intake that can be modified to be a SRI or a CAI. He's also doing "stealth" charge piping. Might wanna check that out. Not sure if its final production yet or not, I know he's got a mock up on his car now.

I live my k & n intake. The bpv is so loud now. I'm untuned for over 10 k miles and have had no issues, no cel, and I just love how loud it makes the whistle of the turbo and the sound of the bpv

I'm running a k&n with gms1 and a hi flow catted dp.

I love it! My fuel trims never jump higher than + or-5 and usually sit more near -1.5and0

It fluctuated for a couple hours at first but has been golden ever since. Also it has allot to do with your filter position.

Order of mods if your lookin for power are

Downpipe
Intake
Tune

You could just do a mildly aggressive tune and people are seeing 295-310whp and 330-320-340wtq

That's JUST a tune.
Of your short funds tunes are no more expensive than intakes in some cases.

Do you notice any difference in performance?

Thanks for the advice! Yea, it looks like a tune isn't any more expensive. Have you dyno'ed yours? I was thinking of getting a new clutch before I get above 300 whp. I know the stock is pretty heavy duty but I don't know how much Chevy expects tuners to get out of it. Any bad experience with the stock clutch?

I don't see a lot of information about the stealth intake.. I think I would rather get something from a more established name for the SS. I'm starting to lean more towards K&N and HAHN.

I'm sorry, but what do you mean by turning the filter?
