Head Gasket Replacement

So yes, I have to replace it. Dealer wants $1650 just in labor. I don't have coin like that laying around. So I have a friend helping me out. Anyone out there help me out with exactly what I need? I'm reading that the cam bolts are torque to yield on the lsjs. What about the lnfs? Anything else i need to or should replace? I'm on my phone so I can't search too much. Any info is appreciated. Thanks guys.

head gasket, head bolts, intake manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, new cam bolts, maybe a new timing chain and tensioner while you're at it

I have about 48k on my car. I thought it was odd especially considering I was doing like 35mph when it all started.

So basically these:

Cylinder Head Gasket Kit 2.0 LNF 2008 - 2009 12609290

Ecotec Cam Gear Bolt 90537451

Timing chain and tensioner are necessary you think?

IF it is the hg buy a head kit from ced. Comes with intake, exhaust, and head gasket. Also head bolts and what not you will need. Make sure cyl one is tdc before removal that way it's easier for the cams to line back up. You will need to remove the timing cover it be able to reset the timing correctly. Not a hard job just one that takes time and knowledge. But like stated above I am going to guess sleeve or block

I was driving to work...cruising about 30-35mph all of a sudden my car started to stumble and I look in the mirrors and see white smoke and my CEL starts to flash. So I coast to a stop at the light. A/F ratio was normal and the smoke went away. I sped up and around 5psi it starts to do it again. A/F maxes out on my AEM wideband and I get smoke. I checked the oil and it looked a little milky. When Im not in boost everything is normal. Temp, A/F ratio, idle...

I posted symptoms earlier and everyone was saying head gasket

You will also need a fuel pipe for the HPFP line You can reuse it but I wouldnt want fuel shooting out at 2xxx+ psi

I am going to laugh when they put your head gasket back on and it still leaks coolant into the oil .

Going through the same problem my self , motor was bullet proof full bolt ons E85 for 45K and it all the sudden takes a **** and leaks coolant into oil. nowhere else. Idiots will take it apart and I would love to see your gasket I bet its in tact...

Problem is the cooling passages in the block after going through so many heat cycles makes the coolant passages weaker and they fail causing coolant to mix with oil

If you only have 48,000 miles on it, have your dealer fix it under warranty. Unless you severely overheated your engine and warped the head, that headgasket shouldn't have blown.

Spend some time or money putting it back to stock and see what happens. It might actually be a defective block, which Chevy does need to own. Do you have a late '08 or early '09 build?
