It depends on mods and amount of boost but anything over normal redline isn't safe. A lot of people rev to 7k without problems but i don't like to rev past 6k cause i don't have supporting mods and like to be on the safe side.

I wanna say with springs you can push it to 8000? I know you can with the lsj don't remember if the same is true for the lnf. I wouldn't push stock springs past 7000.

I always shift 6000-6200, on stock turbo i dont see the need to shift any higher.

If you want your car to sound like a subaru, shifting a 6800 on stock valve spring is a good start, many have no problems, but the risk is still there.

Well depending on the tune , it may be beneficial to stay in a gear longer, yes I realize there are risks for revvig high but on my last dyno sheet I've only lost about 10whp at 6500 vs the max at 5500 so staying in the gear is helpful...

this.

Don't quote me on it as i'm not too familiar with the LNFs. but i believe the stock limit is so low is because the turbo doesn't make power up top in the 7k-8k range. on a turbo swap where the turbo will continue to make power past the stock limit and it will be beneficial to raise it, sure rev it out

when i was getting dyno tuned he said the stock turbo just falls on its face after 6800 so anything after that is just pointless

Doesn't GMS1 bump the rev limit to 6500? I would assume that would be safe to rev to if GM put it in their warrantied stage upgrade.

I shift at 6500 personally since boost falls off to about 18 psi by then. Rev limiter is set at 7krpm tho.

Last time I checked all ecos have the same valve springs, and the same/similar balance shafts. Considering its safe to rev all the other ecos to 7 grand on stock springs and balance shafts I would say its safe on the lnf. Though I agree with a lot of the people that its pointless up there on the stock baby turbo.

Take it for what it is but on the runs i did on the track, the best always been shifting at 6000-6200, only time it was helpful raising the limiter was on the 1-2 shift, it helped not hitting rev limiter.

mine is raised to 6500, only for room on the 1-2 shift.

No reason to shift past 6500 as the little K04 starts to sign off around 5500. Not only that but it's not worth the valve train issues that are almost guaranteed to happen unless you've got upgraded springs...

This isn't fear mongering, do a search.

i mean 7k stock seems to be ok for people if you want the added piece of mind then just get new springs and retainers

^^^ I made 355 whp at 5500 so idk if i would say that's dying off... I realize not everytune is the same, but tunes aren't dying off like they used to, and just bc boost is falling doesn't mean there's no power.. More boost does not equal more power... I would say 6800 stock turbo on aggressive tune is perfect spot... Anyway Both sides have good points but point of thread isnt where power dies its where it's safe to rev to, so I say 6800!

Not sure if this is answer your question but minds make the highest hp at 7200 on a S256 with ZZP valve springs. Sometime I can't help going past 7000 when the wheel are spinning so quickly in 2nd. 4000 to 7000 takes not much longer than one second it seems.
