Question hp tuners beta

just wondering, how is the new beta for hptuners holding up? and how much more power are you guys making on it?

i was talking to area_47 about getting a retune with the beta and he told me that its unstable and he doesnt use it.

hes pretty much one of the best tuners around (my 20psi tune from him pulls the same as my old 24 psi trifecta tune).

anyway, the beta, how is it holding up, what gains are you guys making?
also, i am tuned to 20 psi right now via hptuners. i want to bump up the boost a little and make some more power (about 23psi would be satisfactory for me) should i get the gms1 sensors or what? area also told me with the sensors it would mainly just give me a lot more torque instead of hp. torque is good but i prefer having more hp.

Well the 20lbs feels the same cuz it was properly tuned. And throw beta isn't stable stable but it is stable. Its not 100% is Wut Im getting at. U can make more power with the New beta isn't. But it depends on area..

i trust area's judgement on the tuning. hmm, is 20psi the best you can do with regular hptuners (no beta)?

and you have any info on the gms1 sensors + hptuners? i just wanna see what my options are for making a little bit more power.

i already have full bolt ons too, including intercooler. im going to throw on a gasket matched pnp intake mani and pnp throttle body as well.

I would do 23-24lbs is.. This means area has to have the New beta. Change fuel pressure a bit and mess with the New parameters. I have most my guys around me running a steady 24 and some who are on Meth running 26 and drops to 25. .. So if u want to do it either have area do it or if he won't. Find a diff tune...

I've just heard that its picky about the O/S

Otherwise it's OK but some major improvements could be made on the e85 setups .

It's not just HPT , all E85 tuned cars have some issues. Mechanical challenges are also preventing it from being ideal.

I've been tuning on the new beta since it came out. Not one issue.

As a matter of fact, I just got finished finalizing my tune just a few minutes ago. I'm pushing a solid 24 psi and putting down the numbers in my sig... possibly a couple more.

It's a phenomenal software and works great.

No issues running the beta on XP pro, might be unstable on Vista or W7, IDK.

Nice to have all the new tables.

well people are moving the injection windows and readjusting turbocharger settings to hold 24psi solid to damn near 7k on factory turbos. they are not having any problems with their tunes.

others are using it to go e85 and making fast progress but still having some hiccups as to runnig full e85 tunes.

power gains are looking promising but as stated depends on your tuners and wheather its a good tune or not.

I have no issues with E85 on my car and have many many people running different variants of E tunes without issue as well. I also haven't seen anything to make it "unstable".

You can run more then 20psi without it, you just need to work the tables differently to make it do what you want. Also, running more fuel pressure then stock will have 0 gain. In fact I run less then stock in most places on my car and all E85 tuned cars Ive done, the results speak for themselves.. 370whp and 447wtq!

Really? Over 300whp on 20psi? I struggled to get that by not increasing boost past 22. I put down the numbers in my sig in April before I changed cam tables, injector tables and I wasn't holding 24 psi past 5k rpms... I know I've squeezed out a few more ponies but at this point, the K04 is generating too much heat for me. I need to hit up the dyno again to see if I did actually make any difference.

Who tuned you?

Area 47 tuned me.

I haven't dynoed, its just an estimate. Based off cars I've raced. I know I know.... river math. Lol. I pulled my friends 314whp dyno proven civic Si and he was lighter than me. Multiple runs too. He also was on a blower so his powerband was better than mine. Also beat a mild cam c5vette yesterday. ( elite cybaorg) also stayed next to a ls1 240sx from a 30 roll. Area can tune.

Don't forget about M-Dub because he is pushing his car 30psi (stock turbo & stock internals) with the beta tune without issues. He just had to work out some of the bugs with the stock wastegate to prevent it from surging. I've seen it in person when he demonstrated from the last time he visited my area.

I ran 30psi without the latest Beta last year for 10k miles as well. Held up just fine, sure the stock clutch hated it but otherwise fine.

We offer email tunes, just sayin lol. The last session we almost matched the wtq we made with N2O on the car, just 30whp less.

Unstable meaning issues with uploading a tune to the car. There's been issues.......... Not bad issues just issues that have been resolved..

I only had issues with LSJ's, never with the LNF cars.

Downpipe/tuned (oem paper filter) on e85 I was spinning my stock clutch so had to back down max torque tables. Made 314/388 on a pretty conservative tune before bumping her up and finding out the stock clutch definitely didn't like it.

Absolutely no stability issues on the laptop or the car. xp pro on e69's base os (non gms1)

Also, cat warmup delete is awesome.. Load damping = heel toe/rev matching like a boss. Car drives like a cable actuated throttle now.

so you have the 100% E85 tune figured out and reliable? i thought most cars were still having issues and running E47??
