Hurst STS

Anybody have experience with this on a LNF? What are the plus' and minus' ? Would i be better off with a TWM?

Installation, for a beginner, what would it be like? By beginner i mean, how hard is it for me to frig up lol.

lol an sts isnt hard at all to figure out.... personally i dont think the hurst is much different then the stock shifter. twm is shorter and with the aluminum base bushing and a weighted knob you cant beat it

Trust me man... Do not go with the hurst shifter. I had it in my ss sc and I didn't care much for it at all. Now the gf got me the twm shifter for Christmas with the base bushings and it works awesome. Shorter and way more solid then the hurst could ever think of being. The hurst is a 2 piece design where as the twm is a 1 piece design ...

I say for the extra money, go with the twm and I guarantee you won't be dissappointed

I agree. The hurst wasn't really any better than the stock one. Just looks cooler.

I gotta be honest...the hurst doesn't really have much shorter (if any) of a throw than the stock shifter...but it certainly feels a lot better through the gears and looks hella sweet compared to the stock one.

I'm in the same boat. TWM or Hurst. I'm going with the TWM I think. Sounds like the best option.

I've never heard bad things about the TWM shifter...in fact I've heard it reduces the shifter height and throw by a good margin...the only thing with that is...the stock throw and shifter height is near perfect and doesn't need to be messed with IMO...the only thing that sucked about the stock shifter was the looks of the stock shift knob. If I could have "easily" changed just the shift knob...trust me I would have...but the installation of the Hurst took all of 20 minutes or so and it is certainly heavier than the stock plastic setup so it just feels cleaner through the gears. I mean don't get me wrong I'm sure the TWM is great...but you just can't beat $155 shipped from AllEcotec for the Hurst.

I have my SS/TC installed with the TWM STS. Origionally it was suppose to go to my SS/SC before I traded it. I notice a big difference on height and its a lot comfortable to shift between gears. Wish the Cobalts SS/TC come with arm wrists because the stock STS felt uncomfortable because of the height. The travel between 3rd and 4th are a lot shorter then the stock. Had mine since November and had no issues with it. Its the best STS I ever bought for this car.

i have a hurst sts i really like it, shifts feel great, i mean for 100 bucks cant be beat. i have heard great stuff about twm shifters and kinda wish i had gotten one of those but its all about opinion and what u want. cheap and good feel, or lil pricey but shorter throw and height and great feel.

What the crap? My friend's girlfriend got him a wastegate for his SRT-4, your girlfriend got you a short shifter. I need to get in on this girlfriend buying me stuff for my car. Hell if she bought me a shorty antenna or hand brake boot I'd be impressed.

Back to topic: Tax refund is in, I'm buying TWM immediately. And maybe Trifecta while I'm at it.

My car came with a Hurst sts. It has a ton of play in it (~1" back in forth while in gear) is this normal?
