I need LSD in my 08 Turbo

What do I need to know about adding LSD to my balt? I AutoX my car and got stuck something terrible in my car in the snow with only one wheel trying. Any info or links are appreciated.

Demod ur car. Sell it. Buy another LNF with the g85. Remod. And hope u make money on the sale of ur car over the cost of buying a g85 one lol.

I have LSD in my car and I still have issues with one tire spinning more than the other, even on dry pavement. It might be worth it for you for autoX, but I know mine hasn't been much help for me.

Are you positive you have the lsd? I am driving a non lsd base balt since last week (broke the shifter in the ss/tc) and the difference is huge. I am 1 wheel spinning everywhere in the snow, but with the ss/tc I can definitively feel both wheel working together.

honestly i would just buy an LSJ tranny, bolt it up, call it a day. They have better gearing. im on a big turbo w/o LSD and dont have a problem but i dont autoX race so that might be why lol

not if you cryo treat it. Probably be cheaper to get an LSJ tranny and cryo treat it then just finding an LNF trans.

zzp put am lnf trans on their lsj. I'm going to assume it'll work the other way around.

The only reason I would use an lsj trans is so I don't feel that 1st-2nd gap anymore. Feels like were going to 3rd lol. And idek if the lsj trans would help.

they have different axles and splines. only 1 person I know of has put a lsj in a lnf. And you have to change a few things. Its possible yes, bolts up but then you have the axle thing.

so is the trans that ZZP sells equipped with LSD? would it really be a matter of swapping just the transmission?

I can try and find a video where I had a one wheel burnout cornering at an AutoX event

I emailed ZZP about their trans to see if it has LSD already. No response yet.

I made sure when I first bought my LNF at the dealer to make sure it has a LSD. My 03 SRT-4 didn't, and neither my 07 SS/SC. But, I did it right after the third attempt.

Frankly any way around it means you're pulling the transmission.

You have the option ot disassemble, and replace the non-LSD carrier with an LSD carrier, or buying a whole new transmission.

If you're hell-bent on getting LSD, might I suggest buying a whole new transmission, and then selling yours to offset the cost?

Crate Engine Depot

The four transmissions posted there are the LNF & LSJ transmissions with or without the LSD... I have understood that Quaiffe differentials by themselves are regularly over $1000 landed.

Might I ask where do you get this information from??

Cobalt LSJ = F35 w/4.05 final drive ratio
Cobalt LNF = F35 w/3.82 final drive ratio

Other than the final dive gears (one on the carrier, and a corresponding gear on the main shaft) - these transmissions are EXACTLY the same.

As a matter of fact the LNF powered HHR's still use the same FDR as the LSJ Cobalt/Ion (probably because the HHR weighs more)...

F35 on wikipedia

word back from ZZP is no their trans doesn't not have LSD. that price tag for the new trans seems better than modifying the current trans.

^^Yeah, frankly I was surprised with those prices ~ I would have expected a price tag of around $5k for one of them.
