IC Sprayer
So im curious. I tripped upon an Intercooler Sprayer w/ Nitrous. Specifically this kit......
http://www.modernperformance.com/nit...rs-p-2072.html
and my question is..would a person need to retune for this? Im not too knowledgable with this tuning stuff. Thanks in advance!

The car should take the air temp into account. There's a TMAP right after the IC, so it'll be picking up on the air temp as IAT2 and adjusting for it on its own.
I wouldn't use this kit though. I'd use the CO2/Carbon Dioxide version of it. It would be much cheaper to operate/refill than this one I'd imagine.
Something I've wondered about with these kits is if it cools the IC so much so quickly that it causes stress on the metal and welds as it contracts and leads to early weakening/cracking/leaks down the road.

E-Bay or any company that makes one. Just google "Carbon Dioxide intercooler" or something with those words in it and they'll pop up.
An example of one system I've heard about is called CryO2. (http://www.designengineering.com/cat...tem-components)
Make sure to keep the intake away from the sprayer bar. If the engine breathes in the CO2 then you may lose out on any additional HP that you would've gained from the system.
You can probably fill the tank at any paintball supply or gas company.
Edit:
I just read that the N-tercooler system you were looking at is also compatible with CO2 if you wanted to sway to it later down the road. (http://www.autoblog.com/2005/06/13/d...-cryo2-system/)

NOS is great but it isn't the safest for ur motor, first - it will cool your intercooler temps down (30-60*) but if you haven't tune for it - say goodbye to your motor!!
Second, with the CO2 kit you dont have to worry about CO2 being flamable because it isn't.. It will freez or cooldown ur FMIC or TMIC (20-60*), I've gained dyno proven 15WHP using the kit and to refill the bottle is under $11 compared to $20-$40 to fill a NOS bottle..
I kit have is from SMAX - http://www.speedmaxperformance.com/ but I have a customized kit that is setup to work as a two or three stage kit..
EDIT: just realized NOS isn't flamable in my statement.. my bad..
if you call SMAX (973-891-1755) ask for DAVE and tell them RUDY sent you.. you may get a 10% discount..

NOS is not flammable it is an inert gas. NOS stands for nitrous oxide 2 parts nitrogen and one part oxygen this extra oxygen creates additional power by allowing more fuel to be burned. Nitrous also has a cooloing effect by reducing intake charge temperatures by 60 to 75 degrees F.
Thank you 09cobaltSS for being a voice of reason (and sweet user name btw!)
lol
... NOS is flamable huh?? Funniest thing I've heard in quite a while. You've watched way too much Fast and the Furious. Way to spread misinformation..
Oh and good luck with that CO2 injestion. That's GREAT for hp numbers just an fyi..

FrossB,
NOS is great but it isn't the safest, first - it will cool your intercooler temps down but if you have an open fire or exhaust leak - say goodbye to your motor bay, second NOS IS FLAMABLE!!
with the CO2 kit you dont have to worry about CO2 being flamable because it isn't..
it completely cools down the FMIC or TMIC, I have a 2 stage kit, and its awesome!!

Someone has been watching fast and the furious too much Nos is an oxidizer not a flamable gas you can hold a lighter right in front of an open bottle and it will just put out the flame, ive done it before

I've been thinking of doing a water sprayer kit like the STi has for quite some time. And I found a dirt cheap one on the Cry)2 website thanks Stamina.
http://www.designengineering.com/cat...er-sprayer-kit
I may get that and use it on track days or really hot summer days

since the IC is in the front of the car , that kit wont really do squat. You got giantohumungo turbo that an IC cant cool in time , then yeah it will help, but for stock turbos it wont do anything.
That all depends on how hard your driving and how hot it is outside. I could see the stock IC being getting soaked. Besides that kit will lower charge air temps quite a bit but it prob won't add much power unless your tuned for it.
But could keep up stock power or GMS1 power for a longer duration! Would be keen in AutoX!!!
yes anything is possible, but not likely and not enough to justify getting one.
