Was ignorance really bliss?

So, I have my Interceptor installed now. I have been using it all day today, finding any excuse to drive. I am alarmed by some things.

First, I am pulling up to 3.6 on knock retard on partial throttle

Second, I have been seeing misfires typically 1-3 during a deceleration however I saw at one point as many as 9 misfires.

Third, I have a code hiding itself from me p0036, 02 sensor issue, does this mean I killed my secondary o2 sensor?

Fourth, My LTFT and STFT seem to be all over the place even though Terminator2 did my tuning and said that they are good.

Should I just ignore this crap or do I need to address these issues?

Fuel trim u are seeing in between cells. Basically ure car works off a ton of cells we work off of which we tune with. Basically it works like this. We get the averaged value and use it. The in between cells or the trims are off because of some type of change. Kr wise its prob plugs. Ure code.. Replace ure 02 sensor if u feel u need to

Thanks, I think I will get new plugs to see if that helps along with a new o2 sensor it is after all only 39 bucks.

On the plus side my IAT1 and ambient air temp are typically the same (gotta love CAI) .

Hopefully someone else can chime in on this one, otherwise ask Term.
Second, I have been seeing misfires typically 1-3 during a deceleration however I saw at one point as many as 9 misfires.
Misfiring only during decel? Pretty sure mine does that stock, though I cannot verify that since I can't read that value with the gauge unit I have.
Third, I have a code hiding itself from me p0036, 02 sensor issue, does this mean I killed my secondary o2 sensor?
Hiding? Perhaps Term turned it off so that your highflow cat wouldn't trip the inefficency code? I'm not sure which code is supposed to be turned off for that so thats an ask Term question.
Fourth, My LTFT and STFT seem to be all over the place even though Terminator2 did my tuning and said that they are good.
Ask Term about it, he'll be able to tell you better than anybody else.
Should I just ignore this crap or do I need to address these issues?

These LNF motors love to knock at part throttle and low loads especially when they are not fully warmed up.

I wouldn't worry about small knock like that, 3.6* KR is probably normal.

As long as it doesn't happen during WOT or it's not a huge amount and it's not consistent.

You should monitor IAT2

I wouldn't worry about 9 misfires either, that's a low amount, no CEL for it yet.

Mine is ~5-10* off with a trimmed intake silencer and stock the rest. Make sure you get NGK, it's the only way to go.

Are you actually getting a CEL?

No, it was not a hidden cel due to the tune, cause when i cleared it it showed up as a cel on the dashboard when I restarted the car.

Oh ok gotcha, well on the bright side that CEL won't do anything but cause you to not pass an emissions test since thats all the 2nd o2 sensor does, car will run fine without it.

Wacky fuel trims can cause all sorts of problems on these cars. They have been known to cause all kinds of phantom KR.

EVAP solenoid and EVAP vent solenoid issues can cause FT issues. Actually, there's a lot of stuff that can. I like my ignorance.

Maybe you should let M-Dub tune your car here in NC and your issues will be solved. No knock or issues with his Tune since Dec 10' pushing 26 psi. Love his tune and no one I know can perfect better than he can, unless your Area47.

The wacked trims will cause the KR that you are seeing. I would contact David and let him log and look at the car. You could possibly need a new front O2 as well!

You have a bad O2 that does need to be fixed and yes when Ryan set me your one data log the fuel trims were good they were within 2% mostly. If you want you can send me another data log and I will be happy to take a look at everything for you. You know you could have come to me first before you posted this up.

Term I was not bashing you at all, I don't have access to HPT because Ryan lives over 100 miles from me. I am getting HPT in a couple months myself, when I do I will check with you again. First I am going to replace both o2 sensors, and take a look at the plugs. I have just been so busy.

In fact the reason why I did not check with you Term is that I know your tune is so rock solid I must be doing something wrong

All Hailz Terminatior2!!

That's awesome. I'd give you some points if I knew how. What the hell is up with these medals and stuff. I read the inform about it, but I fell asleep after the first couple of sentences.

You have a new revision which should help your HPFP keep up on the E-85.

STFTs and LTFTs. also watching Oil temp wouldnt hurt.

Your missfires are nothing.. I've seen 20-30 in a drive to or from work. thats the sum amount of a bunch of 2 or 3 missfires. Some of those missfires could be false readings since the Interceptor will watch 8 cylinders although we only have 4. Go to the missfire menu and watch it there. If you see 50 missfires in a few seconds then you probably have an issue. remember your engine speed is well above 2000rpm. That means the piston goes up and down at least 33 motions per second. 2 or three missfires here and there is insignificant at a given time.

What do you see with the LTFTs? those are the numbers the car is using to trim fuel with.

STFTs i gaurantee are going to be all over the place for brief milliseconds, lol.
