Canada infiniboost trifecta

Hey....thinking about going this tune route...

Has anyone on here been running it? How is it?

What are it's effects on the turbo? Can the turbo handle it or is it overkill?

Has anyone fried their turbo with this tune?

Cheers.

I have mine at 23 PSI and have had no issues, IMO I wouldnt go above 23 PSI because your overspining the turbo at that point and I consider it sketchy in regards to blowing the turbo

the more boost you go the more i would highly recommend a bigger IC!

mine is nice at 24psi.

I didn't have the Infiniboost tune but I had my own version of it running ~30psi for over 10K miles without issue. Im not running that much anymore, but I had no adverse effects from it

I wouldn't try any of the real aggressive tunes without supporting mods first.
Then make sure you get in some fine tuning (multiple data logs sent to Vince@Trifecta)) after the initial tune.

I personally would never get a 30 psi tune, probably 26 psi max, but some people like to push stuff to the very edge. Good luck.

i'm going to go 22-23psi when I get the Trifecta... all the ko4 needs, the gains from the extra psi are not worth the abuse the turbo is going to be put through

Bah, you sissy! Its not like you can't just switch to the mild tune for everyday driving and only use the aggressive tune for racing if your worried about it.

Lots of clutch slippage happens at nearly 400wrtq.

Who cares how shaky or whatever the dyno is. The facts still stand, made almost 50 more whp and the same in wtq.... geez. SAE wasnt used on either of the pulls so the gains are the gains.

i have it right now and the turbo has been holding it just well... it is an overkill to the turbo in the long run but its not like your going o blow it right away... my recommendations are if you do the infinitboost (the real one is 30PSI, which is the one im using) make sure you have plans of putting a bigger turbo in the near future (6-8 months) if not get Term. to tune it for you at 22psi with a very reliable tune. also you might want to get a new clutch if you go with the infinitboost because at least from my experience i made 404wtq and the clutch started to slip... just research and if your plans are not to go big turbo the make term tune it for you!

good luck!

HHRSSouth... I want your wheels!

How much boost could I put through the stock turbo and BPV safely with a trifecta tune?

Put the pill back in your car then. Mine can finally breathe again now that the stock intake is back off the car.

I would rather have his Grand National.

You can fight with my dad on that one. Its really used more for car shows as the interior looks as new as my 09 HHR SS and the outside is probable and 8 out of 10. Doesn't really get abused to much as far as racing goes.

Back on topic: well vince sent me the new tune I requested. I wanted 1st gear to try and hold 5 psi all the way through the rpm band in 1st. (I just found out its actually controlled via torque not boost in 1st, so I learned something). Anyways got to try it out today and boost stayed 5-7psi throughout the entire rpm band and my car actually moved forward while spinning slightly (instead of sitting there roasting the tires in 1st) This was reving the car and dumping the clutch for a launch, not feathering it. I figure once it starts warming up to 70 degrees plus I should have pretty good traction through all of 1st now.

My Father has an '87 with 70K miles on it. Interior also looks brand new. It's being painted right now. Unfortunately, it's a T-top car, so it rattles like a can full of rocks.

I have mine set at 22.5-23 PSI Not really much of a need for more boost than that unless you have supporting mods. I will be bumping it up to 26 PSI when I get back to the states. (I will have supporting mods for that installed.)

I have been running it for about 12K miles now, no problems. Only problem I have had as the MAP senson that was blowing when my car was stock. Power made SAE/Smoothing on 5 was 324WHP/404Ftlbs with just an AEM/ZZP AB Mod, Synapse catless DP, and Borla 3'' Catback. It is the most reliable tune I have run, and I have run, the Superchips tune, the termitune(HP Tune), and the earlier trifecta tune. (The selectable tune is much better than what vince was doing a year ago.)

After fine tuning your car will feel completely different.

Also I can confirm that it is undetectable. My car has been scanned by the TECH II several times and nothing has shown up.
