Intake Mods ?

What would happen if I removed the restrictive pipe before the airbox but left it that way and and didnt run a new hose or pipe back into the bumper? Would this cause any codes or other issues?

The snorkel? It won't trip anything. Some people think that your IAT's would go up, but I highly doubt that as well. I swiss cheesed the bottom of my airbox, and saw an increase of 1* on my IATs.

I have been running that way for a month now couldn't find the little snap that goes up under the wheelwell pain to pull it out . I gained 4 tenths in the quarter mile by taking the injen cai off and going back to stock airbox. w/o snorkel with k&n filter, prolly go back to paper filter again for the winter months.

Done said mod, IAT 1's stay 4-7 degrees about outside temp, I am working on a cold air mod for the box right now. More a ram air type deal.

So i should be perfectly safe removing the snorkel thats drops down into the fender well? dont need to fashion a hose or pipe piece to keep drawing air from that area? Cool, gonna rip it out at lunch!
