so i fixed my issue. i put a washer on the nipple piece and grinned it down so it will fit with the stock breather line. i just don't understand how hahn couldn't think of this. not to talk down on them or anything. they are a great company, but just to leave the nipple piece with no locking mechanism doesn't make sense to me.

Do you have any ideas of a tentative date for when the SRI will be available to purchase? Thanks!

They will hopefully be able to get most of the finish work done on the pre-production intake so getting close

Yes, if all goes as planned, we will be doing some more pre-production fitting/finishing and testing this weekend.

With all the problems with the breather valve fitting being discussed right now, and the BS being posted about "other products" and "other tunes" being responsible, I wanted to up-date this thread and make it perfectly clear, there is ONLY one correct way of attaching the breather hose.

That is providing a factory type fitting which allows the breather connection to LOCK in-place.

Why is this important?

When under boost, the angle in which the breather is connected to the intake tube, allows for air to be somewhat pressurized and literally blows the breather fitting off, if NOT locked on. There's a reason GM went through the extra expense, and engineering, to provide a locking connection.

Properly machined parts require proper engineering and custom work. The ONLY reason to provide a "universal fitting", would be to save on cost and to allow a product to be released to market much sooner. PERIOD.

"Other products and other tunes" have absolutely nothing to do with a loose fitting.

That is not what Hahn customer service says. But they are very wrong and their intake's design has issues that they should fix but wont. I know your intake will not have these issues.

Well, we designed and tested our intake back in December. We tried using a universal tube because it was readily available and very inexpensive. Unfortunately it did not allow the stock breather hose to LOCK on. Under boost the hose was popping off on the dyno. We made some modifications to keep the hose on, but ultimately we could not stop an intake leak at the hose fitting. Rather than release the intake kit and hope for the best, we decided to delay release in order to have the breather fitting duplicated exactly as the factory fitting.

Believe me, if we could have provided a "universal fitting", which actually FIT, we would have. We would love to have released our intake kits for sale in December with less expensive parts.

Better do make it right the first time even if it takes more time and costs a little more. I know there are quite a few members with "other" intakes who would like to toss theirs in the trash becuase of lean codes and poor performance. Keep up the good work Dan and I love my Performance Boost Tubing BTW.

Now I have a quick question for you Dan. I am one of the people who got the first batch of Hahn Intakes. Can you confirm that this was a differenct design than the current one? Because I am not having a problem with mine popping off?

I have never seen there intake in person so I honestly can not comment one way or the other. Based on what others have posted, there is a difference from what they did offer to what they have been offering. To confirm, I suggest giving them a call or contacting one of the current members who are experiencing the problem.
