Intakes?

I currently have a k&n short ram intake on my 2010 ss/tc.

Was told that once I start doing tuning and bolt ons I should get a proper cold air intake that goes into the wheel well.

Was also told by a different guy that if I want to do a bigger turbo I should have the intake that I already have.

What should I do? Switch intakes or keep the short ram?

Thanks!

Keep it. The ones that go down into the wheel wells just increase your chance of sucking in water and causing problems

Cold air intake temps, not much spooling sound, less chance of knock, possibility to suck in water when it's raining. Or, hotter air, spooling sound, bpv sound, more chance of knock. Your choice.

On a hard run you aren't sucking in much hotter air than outside temp.

You might gain a HP or 2, but the K&N is one of the better intakes to tune.

i just did the MAF tuning on mine. Had to adjust a good bit but not bad.

Do you have proof of an actual difference? Also where do you get the idea a K&N intake increases knock, because they dont...

Of course you don't you just follow what every ricer says....

OP keep the K&N, no need for another different intake, the temp difference between a SRI and a CAI are insignificant during a WOT pull. None of the CAI's come close to a nice ram air style they offer for most trucks that actually make a difference

Bahaha, please don't post misinformation. It's confusing to newer people.

As said, while moving there is almost no difference in intake temp between ambient air.

Knock is mostly about tune. Intercooler will help incoming temps more than anything.

on these cars, having straight air across the MAF is the most important thing. Most cold air intakes on this car skew the MAF a lot and are not easily tuned.

The other guy who gives shitty advise was telling someone to remove it for a completely unrelated issue. I agree if the tank is cracked and leaking pull it outta there, but if its not cracked leave it alone

I always forget who else posts in most threads, I just try to keep people from reading what he says as actual good information
