Exclamation intercooler issue

I just bought a intercooler kit from Treadstone Performance and the lower cold side pipe doesn't have a vale for the vacuum line...what can I do to compensate for the vacuum line??

theirs don't have it. u have 2 options. u cant just run the line that's supposed to connect to the charge pipe fitting teed into the intake manifold port, or u can weld a bung into the charge pipe and ull have one. I welded on on bung when I had that pipe. teeing into the intake manifold line will work, but it will not be able to work the way it was ment to. that line is only supposed to see boost and not vacuum, just like the one on the other end of the bpv solenoid is only supposed to see vacuum, its for the ecu to be able to open vacuum or boost to open or close the bpv for motor protection if something were to happen and it had to. u can do it the easy way, if u want it to see only boost and just put a check valve on the line and ur good.

Damn!!! Thanks Tomj77. I think I'm going to inform Treadstone about this defect and return the lower pipe. I paid too much to be cutting and welding on pipes. Again thanks

Funny, cuz I'm SURE he actually posted in the LNF section. I'm not 100% sure but IIRC that's the turbo version, no? Common sense, no?

There is only one, that one. Lol the small vac line going into the top of the intake manifold. Only one there. If u look at it it runs down under the manifold to the vacuum canister.

You can take off all the vac lines completely except the one that goes to the BPV and hook that one up directly to the intake manifold.

I dont think treadstone's plate they welded in is large enough. Otherwise youre going into ~20 gauge aluminum which isnt enough to hold a thread.

OP treadstone's is a shitty design and will fit like poo poo. If you can return it without re-stocking fees do it. Then either buy zzps or pwerks

Treadstones fits a heck of a lot better than zzps, unless zzp fixed theirs. Treadstones took 10 minutes to install where as zzp took like an hour plus, and after doing that once I just cut it off and used a 90 degree coupler.

I was meaning the whole kit, not just the lower CP. With zzp's its just a matter of orienting it correctly which takes a bit.

Oh the whole kit, I'm talking just putting on the pipe with everything else already on, I'm sure doing everything together is much easier

The fitment of the whole kit sucks, the intercooler brackets are a bitch, and the fact they continue to not use the correct vacuum connections even after many have told them its missing.

I NEED a diagram or something for the vacuum lines. I don't have the turbosmart BOV and need to route things so my car functions properly. Treadstone effed up the lower charge pipe and does continue to. But if anyone has a diagram showing how they actually routed their vacuum lines without the Aftermarket BOV valve I'd love to see it.
