less boost with colder weather?

When I first picked the car up it would see about 17-19psi in 90 degree weather...now with temps in the low 50s in the morning its only boosting 14-15psi??? Don't get me wrong it feels just as strong on 14 as it did on 19...is the computer limiting power that it should make in colder temps?

Yea its the computer that is limiting the boost. I don't know why gm is doing that. I herd that it makes sure you are always making the same power, no more no less. I think you can fix it with HPT

This is the intention...it targets an airflow number, and adjusts boost pressure to accommodate. Your car is making just as much power as it did before, it just takes less boost to achieve it in cooler weather

Thats funny I have noticed that also on like any car colder air usually gets you where you're going faster so yeah the computer is compensating for the cold air . I wish I had an extra ECU and a tuner cuz Damn she wants to be mean as hell when it gets below 60F I feel your pain. I wish it was just a switch to turn off the retarded HP and Torque Controllin BS .

It would be nice if comp mode would turn it off.

Have had HPT for 24 hours now - not a bad investment IMO. Then again, I tune LS1's too. But, I'm more than happy to be rid of the torque management.

cooler weather = less work

thats why turbo boost less because it doesnt have 2 work as hard as it does when its hot out

Stage 1 is only going to limit you to the next greatest HP rating GM finds suitable. It isn't going to take off the control aspect.

damn i was hoping that they would just do away with that and just put it to a certain boost level and keep it there during WOT u know what i mean? i personally would like to see that because then u could make even more power with the air just being cooler

and stock the comp will only let us boost to bout 18-19 right? under the control aspect i mean

haha... I think we finally found an advantage for the SC guys. Even stock my boost went through the roof on cold days. I'm seeing a whole PSI more in this colder weather, It was 40 degrees this morning, i hit the solid line after 15psi. I usually see about 16, maybe a little more, now I'm up at 17.5. Could be even a tiny bit more since I have to look back at the tach at some point.

My boost is 25-26 never less hot or cold with the hahn tune but the altitude is 4200 -6000 ft depending on where you are at here pulls like a beast.

I live at 600'.
Was in Cloudcroft New Mexico all this week and was it fun driving up above 7000' in 59* weather.
Small bit of throttle going up hill and boost would jump to 10lbs, give it half throttle and it pull 15lbs +.
Full throttle a few times and I never looked to see what it pulled, to hard to look at the boost gauge coming out of a 30 mph corner doing 50 mph.
I do know one thing, you can hear the turbo spool up a lot more up high.
Do they have some really nice roads up there to have fun on.

I hated driving up at high elevation, the cars performance seemed to suffer so much. I went from 4000 feet above see level to sea level in a matter of hours and it was like getting a bunch of new mods. I don't even want to talk about the summer I spent in Idaho at 9000' above sea level. I will admit there are some fun roads in the mountains, but for the most part I hated it.

I have the Hahn and here in Phx the over might lows finally dropped below 75*, down to upper 50's (12-14 degrees below normal) but my boost has been falling back to stock 16-17 psi as soon as the temps drop below 70 degrees. Happened three times since the cooler air 2 days ago. The power is, like I said back to stock, the people that say the power is the same do not know what you're talking about. Lower boost ='s less power, it's that simple.

Trust me the power is not there. I can put 2.5 cars on my buddies stock 09" manual tranny Mustang GT by 110 mph with the tune, but when the boost falls due to the cooler air, it's him that puts 1.5 car on me in the same contest. This is not good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When it get's cooler the car is supposed to be quicker, like my SRT4 neon was, which felt like it picked up an extra 15 hp in temps below 60 degrees. The DAMN SS\TC LOOSES POWER< Time to trade the POJ in. I've had it with GM garbage for to many years now. She's for sale on Tuesday.
