Limp Mode With Dejon Intake?

I installed my Dejon Intake over the weekend and it threw 2 codes and the CEL.

The 2 codes are...

P101 - MAF or VAF A CKT Range
P2178 - System to Rich off Idle speed (Bank 1)

My car goes into Limp mode for no reason for about 5-10 min. My tuner, Dejon, and myself think that the line from the Valve cover to intake needs to be replaced. (Braided Line)

Opinions and Ideas please.

probably the intake itself, i think they use a tube for that line, not the machined fitting like clear image or the stock intake has....

hmm yes looks like it just had a ridge for the "tube" to stay on? good point, probably leaking?

I insalled mine and only took about 10min I also have my breather valve vented into the atmosphere. Try this Disconect your battery and take your maf out and turn it around and re install it. It sounds like you put it in backwards. Let me know how this works out for you.

I suggest putting a little filter on that line since it sucks in fresh air into the engine.
As for the op's problem, you didn't by any chance put the maf in backwards?

Breather line leak, leak at turbo coupler. SRIs teng to cause the fuel trims to go very negative (that is they tend to cause a rich condition) MAF sensor in backwards car will not start if that is the case.

It's the intake itself most likely. My shortram caused me to throw the Rich of idle code as well.

Put the stock airbox back on a WHALAH, no more codes!

I hope I have better results with my AEM intake than I did with Dejons.

It will leak like crazy still. Remember I had to remove the stainless line and clamp a rubber hose on there to stop it from leaking air after the MAF.

When I had the Dejon intake on, I wrapped the breather connection with self fusing rubber tape to seal it. Scotch 130C works well & is hi temp. The fitting on the Dejon is marginal at best.

I never threw a code with the Dejon intake, but since I am tuned for the stock airbox, it didn't run as well. From what I've seen posted by others, I'm pretty sure it was running rich. (no way for me to read the F/A ratio) If you have the means to scan yours, check it out.

Mine was running rich sometimes and lean others depending on load and rpm.

When i put on my Charge Pipes i let my car idle for about 3 minutes, then took it for a quick pull and i threw the limp mode code. disconnected the battery for 10-15 mins and started it up again and it was fine

I'm the tuner. the cars stft's are -10-(-20%). which indicates that the sri is bleeding are off after the maf. when I put my dejon sri my stft's were in the +2-(+5%) range in some areas and i did very little maf table changes.

2FST4U I told you to take the intake off and reinstall. I would run a hose from the nipple on the intake to the valve cover. you need to put a one way check valve in this hose because if you dont it will allow oil to get into your intake track and a wet intake = less cfm and drivability concerns. if you dont want to do that then you can plug the nipple on the intake with a vaccum plug and put a filter on the nipple coming off the valve cover but be I have seen these filter fill up with oil and start blowing it all over the back of the valve cover.

My LTFTs were -10 with my Dejon and I have no leaks in my breather line because I clamped a thick rubber hose in place of the stock stainless line. They are -2 to 0 with my stock airbox on.

2fst4u's car flows 36+lbs per min with the stock exhaust. but mine will only do 33lbs. I think I might have a wastegate concern because his car also holds 20-22psi longer.
