loud clunking while shifting hard?

hey guysm just got my 2010 ss and its a blast to drive. very smooth, habdles great...awsome car for the money.

this is not my 1st stick car but it is my first stick fwd car. anyway, ive been trying to pratice some hard driving and i seem to get a very violent 1-2 shift. it sounds/feels like the tranny is about to drop out of the car. lol. am i letting the clutch out too fast maybe? not hitting gas soon enough? hitting gas too late?

any ideas?

i am fine normal driving, no problems getting around town just when i try and race it.

1st gear is a little tricky on these cars being that is geared very short where as 2nd gear is geared very long. The result is that there is a small gap between 1st and 2nd. I would suggest waiting an extra half second or so before engaging 2nd gear to allow the rpms to drop to a reasonable level before re-engaging the clutch. I don't know if you were using the no-lift shift feature or not but even that does not require a very fast shift, I think you have a full second or so.

subd for answers! my lt is the same way after the turbo swap. when you push in the clutch and take it out of gear it clunks/jerks and then the nest gear like literaly sucks the shifter in
