Unhappy Low Boost After Tune Update...?

I installed my Hahn CoolRam intake this evening. Everything went smooth and what not. Beautiful looking piece...sounds amazing. Well, I had a tune update from Trifecta loaded it and took it for a spin. Its the switchable tune so I have to put it in Comp Mode to feel the affects. Heres what the deal is..

Tune off: Air/Fuel Ratio is some where around 14.5 at WOT and I boost only 2-4psi
Tune on: Air/Fuel Ratio is around low 12 and I boost 2-5psi

I did a quick check under the hood see if something popped off, but I couldn't see anything. Its dark out so I'll continue to check tomorrow. I was boosting 22psi before I had the tune update. I figured if I was loosing that much boost somewhere I'd get a CEL.

Any ideas and any info would be great. Other mods are in the sig...Thanks again guys.

log it log it log it.. doing data logs and sending them back to Vince is extrememly important, especially if you are encountering issues.

I'm not as familiar with the gt tuner but when you open the tuning program there should be a tab on the top that says vehicle info I think. Click on that and the option to datalog should come up. This is assuming that the setup in the gt tuner is the same as the software I have installed on my laptop to use with the cable

really? **** I wish I was more familiar with the gt tuner so I could help you a little better. I would shoot Vince an email right now if I were you to explain the problem and ask him how you would go about datalogging with the gt tuner so you can get this resolved asap.

Give an update when you figure out what happened. It's odd that you wouldn't produce boost with the tune. I'd be curious to see what the issue is. Are you only not making boost with the tune on or do you have the issue regardless of the tune being on or not? Hopefully nothing happened to your MAF in the process of installing your CAI.

To logg something with the GT tuner you need an SD card with at least 4gigs of free space if it didn't come with one. Hook your GT tuner up to your car, boot it up. Then either tap and hold the bottom right corner of the screen or the bottom left. I don't recall. Trust me, if you get the right corner it'll change screens to the "data log' screen. Theres more than one screen so just try the corners. Need to hold the corner for like 3 seconds or so. Once in the data log screen just get it set. Vince will need to see you go WoT a few times. Try from a dead stop and from a roll in different gears so he can see what's happening.

It's not a tune issue. Something went wrong with the intake install. Probably a vac leak.

Maybe you knocked off, or accidentally left off the vacuum line to the bpv? Can't see any other vacuum line being effected by a cai install

either way, you need to find a way to produce some logs for Vince to determine if it's a mechanical issue or tuning

well I installed the Hahn bypass valve block off plate. Now a question about that is, do you just take off the tan cover and replace that with the block off plate? Or do you take the spring and the diaphram out too?

Yikes.. Unless you are running an atmospheric BOV you should by no means AT ALL be blocking of that bpv. Do you have a BOV installed in your charge piping?

edit.. Just saw your signature has a bov in it.

I'm not fond of BOV's so I won't get into this discussion..

I gotcha. Everything worked fine before. Before I had the charge pipe with the atmospheric bov without the block off plate. Then I installed the intake and the block off plate and now I'm barely boosting. Thats why I'm curious about how the install is supposed to go for the bpv block off. I appreciate the help though man...

Diaphram has to go into to seal the BPV off. No spring needed anymore.

good to hear. After every tune update be sure to send a new log to Vince. It may take quite a few logs and updates to get everything just right. Don't assume everything is ok without Vince giving you the final thumbs up though. That's how motors go boom and/or never fully run properly
