Base on GM tech, the stock LNF 2 map sensors can hold a max of 22 Psi and the 3 map can go up to 27 (what ever he meant). That docent mean you cant get 24 on the stokers and 28-29 on the 3 maps.

It's not what they hold, its what they accurately read to

i didnt have any codes, my rpd would stop working on boost randomly so I knew it was done. This happened to me over a year ago to like twice, and then never again. But I never fixed it cuz I dindt know, so im guessin that was the source of some of my problem.

I ran 30psi thru my STOCK map sensors and I STILL have the same sensors on my car today.

Every car Ive seen that keeps blowing them seems to have more blowby then the norm. That oil vapor seems to eat the sensor inside. This is just an observation, I don't KNOW this to be 100% accurate. BUT I keep checking every car and this seems to be the case!
this is truth

Wanted to addendum my post. The only engine parts that aren't stock are the CIA catless DP and K&N drop-in filter with a shortened snorkel. Tune is stock. Would love to find out what caused it to die, thinking blow-by but no idea where it's coming from. Need to pull the intake mani and have a look. Also need to get some NGK plugs back in there, motor doesn't like autolites.

Very Sorry for the huge mega bump, but when you change the map sensor its self do you have to re-solder or can you take it out like you would say a light in the car cause its clipped in

if you are replacing the old sensors with the same (new) sensors then they just un plug and reattach (male and female ends)

but if you are putting the bosch (gms1 sensors) in place of the stock ones, they will need to be soldered in for best results...

ok all you need to do is get ahold of new sensors and plug em up and go!!
i got my sensors pretty cheap at performanceautowerks.com and you should already have the pig tails on your car so it'll only be like 80 shipped i think if you need new sensors......

Having read through this thread, I have not found the part number for stock map sensor. Anybody??
Also has anyone had the t-map sensor in the cold pipe being the blown sensor, or is it always the intake manifold map sensor?
I popped a p0107 and I want to know which map sensor to buy. Dealership quoted me 160 bucks for the IM sensor

It's the one in the lower charge pipe, normally. It gets oil in it.

so 1 bar is 14.5 psi so the stock sensors are 2bar and they can't handle 21psi? why call it a 2bar or 3bar sensor when they can't handle 29 or 43.5psi?

Because atmospheric pressure at sea level is approximately one bar. When the turbocharger builds boost it pressures the intake tract above ambient atmospheric pressure. On a naturally aspirated car that will seldom (and only slightly) go above ambient atmospheric pressure due to things like a tuned intake, etc. it will generally use a 1 bar MAP sensor which allows for the engine controller to read from under vacuum (lower than ambient pressure) up to ambient atmopsheric pressure for your area (which will vary due to things like elevation and temperature which affects density and therefore pressure).

A turbocharged car still needs to have the range to read from vacuum up to ambient, which is handled in the first bar or the sensor's range. Then when you go into boost a 2 bar sensor has an additional bar to read pressure which is equal to ~14.5 psi. If the car had a 2.5 bar MAP sensor it could read up to ~21.8 psi boost and a three bar sensor would equal around 29 psi max pressure that the engine controller could read above atmospheric pressure.
