Have fun. Smoking my tires through 9th gear isn't my cup of tea, but it would be fun on someone else's tire bill. Just make sure you put some money away for repairs.

Hey mkriebs, what is the cost for a trifecta tune w/GT tuner for the LNF? I got a new '09 on its way and I will have it Tuesday so Im not sure about this. I was using hptuners with my lsj but I hear Trifecta is the way to go with the new car.

Ok my bad I meant 350* whp considering you would assume that number on a mustang, meaning you would be around 390-400whp on a dyno jet, that will still spin your tires, besides I dont see why ur bitching anyways, street radials will get the job done, not ,like ur gonna launch from every red light so ur not gonna go through a pair of tires a week. Atleast those are not my intentions, ill run it at the strip few times on slick but if anything Ill do highway rolls, or when you're retuning ur car just lower the the hp and tq in 1st gear and second to minimize the spin.

I am aiming for a race tune of that power. My street tune will be lower than that, and half the time when I will be racing I won't even have it turned up all the way. I'll be doing mostly curvy track racing, so it won't matter. And there is no one around here worth street racing, so that would be a waste of my time.

And, to the dude about the trifecta tune, I have no idea, I am not a trifecta dealer, I just said I should try to become one. If you look up Loud SS/SC, I think he is, and I am sure he would have an answer for you.

anything past 300whp is free beer if you ask me. if you want real power build the motor for real power, the lnf was never designed for this type of stuff. you'll make 500whp for one pull that's for sure.

And your qualifications are what now? ZZP has obviously been on the dyno MANY times. 375 aint **** for this motor. It won't bat an eye. Of course, there are the typical anomalies where something could go wrong, but just lumping every LNF into that group is a really dumb thing to do. My shop will be building an LNF next summer if all goes as planned. I would love to see what it would make before it blows up, but the customer wants 500, reliable hp.

I was just sharing my .2 cents. I've lived to see a good amount of lsj/lnf builds so far and well, sorry to say the guys that push their engines that far tend to disappear pretty quick. it's an aluminum open deck block with cast pistons. sleeve it then you're talking business.

No one has built an LNF yet. So, you haven't seen any. ZZP has the power record on ANY LNF (solsitce, sky, opel gt, cobalt). Theirs has been reliable so far. Sure, it won't be forever, but thats part of modifying.

My bet is ZZP would be pushing about 530 on a dynojet, if not higher.
I know you dynoed on a mustang dyno but you gained only 28 whp and 56 wrtq. Gains seem low overall. Raw numbers dont mean that much but normally these things gain 50-60 whp and 70-80 wrtq over stock with just a tune. Your track times are good but maybe you are just a better drive than most. I dunno. You could always find a dynojet to compare to.

Really? Do you work for GM performance? Or are you pulling this out of ur ass, cobalt might not have a bugati engine in it but it's deffinetly capable of over 300whp, even with 400whp it can be a daily driver, idk what ur intentions you have but I sure am not planning on launching it or beating the car every chance I get, just drive it normally and shred it when you need to. I personally want 400whp for driving confidence, always good to have the extra power, but yea leave the decisions to the pro's like zzp, cia, synapse turbo and so on, on what these cars can make. LNF is a great motor dont underestimate it.

Eh, don't worry about him. He hates on the LNF every thread he posts in. Its getting about as old as all of us hating on his cut springs. But at least we have reasons behind our hate.

lol shaddup you.

anyway, I am not an expert but it's simple, if you're looking for a reliable fast car a 400hp stock internals lnf is not the best choice.
