muffler delete clip actually sounds decent

stole fathers camera to record my stock exhaust with no muffler +4 inch tip. check it out

EDIT

decided to add this one too. this is pretty much cabin noise from the muffler. Not bad at all.

Sounds pretty good man, nice looking tip too! I'm personally going for a sleeper look, exhaust as quiet as can be, no loud intake...just a tune and some other goodies so people don't know what him 'em. But I still like the sound in your vid!

Sound good. It is amazing that it does not crack at all without the muffler. I assume you still have you stock DP correct? If you ever go catless you will probably want your muffler back IMHO. The stocks cats are pretty big and quiet the exhaust quite a bit.

The intake sound is so sexy though and it makes almost no noise until you hit it. Same goes for the exhaust on these cars. It all has to do with the turbo's effect on the volume.

Yea I still have th stock DP. I only did a muffler delete temporarily untill I have more money to **** with the rest of the exhaust. Then I will be going for 1 High flow cat, 3" piping with a Borla Muffler. But it was just too costly at the time. Thank you for the sound compliment though.

OK.......noob question alert!!!

Is this as simple as cutting out the muffler and just replacing with proper size tubing?

Sounds good!

I found its just as loud as any other cobalt with a 3" and muffler. SSBallin has a 3" catback with Apexi muffler and its just as loud and his might be a little louder actually.

Probobly does free up a little HP. I dyno'd at 246 with this and K&N drop in

It might not sound as good on a 2.2. Its a completely different engine and size exhaust. It may be a little too raspy. The only reason this sounds decent is casue theres 2 cats and a resonator.

FYI to all, the ONLY part of that clip that sounds "normal" is when it is at idle, the camera does not have a very good mic and it distorts early so the actual sound is still different it's better in person no contest. to the OP, i suggest putting the camera back 5feet and 10feet to see if it can kill the distortion. As well, try a few fly by's and "launches"

bringing back from the dead, won't the loss of back pressure (with the removal of the muffler) hurt some tq numbers though??

Dont believe so, but removing the muffler wont remove as much backpressure as if you were to get a new catless DP. When I get over this damn cold i think im gonna go get a flyby with this and the new intake
