It's doing fine! I believe I might have to adjust the wastegate, I'm getting spikes around 4-5k rpm when I punch it. So far so good though, this thing hauls ass.

One of my logs. 3rd gear pull going up hill with 2 passengers 60-100 in 5.28 seconds. So that's not too bad! I want to be faster though!! haha. Still more tuning needed.

Dude speaking of wastegates, not sure if I shared this on here or not but the other night while logging I started to feel the car seem to get slower and slower. Well, turns out when I popped the hood I could see the wastgate hanging and the bolts on the compressor housing that hold the WG were gone. I was making no boost cause the WG wasn't anchored therefore not enabling it to actuate.

Easy fix though, bought 3 new bolts and will be tightning to spec with some Loctite blue on them this time. Think its a little BS though that the bolts came off like that. I'm guessing that after a few heat cycles that the bolts expanding and what not lead to this happening.

Remember to check your torque specs after a few heat cycles again. Bolts get loose

Yea lol, this wastegate bullshit is annoying. I gotta take pics and send it to James to make sure its tightened right etc. It seems like my wastegate opens and closes during WOT. I believe he has me set at 25 psi but for now I think it's conservative cause my fuel trims are still jumping around AFAIK. It's coming along though, It's just been hard for me to log lately cause of this damn heat.

I have him set at 24lbs and 14* any more I start seeing faint kr. And I can see the wg opening up under boost when he stomps on it high, when he starts low like say a 3rd gear at 2500 and full spool it'll be fine it'll have a spike still but no wg opening up. It's as I'd there is now preload like the wg is loose as ****. I know I was having this issue and it was the actual rod itself being to loose. Which is why I am having him get me a pic. If its to tight it can be a issue.

Aww, that's gonna be an unfair race! LOL. Lucky you do have him so close to you. Nobody as experienced as you guys are anywhere near me. I gotta do all this **** alone lol.

This is GMs remedy for wastegate coming loose. All new k04 turbos now come with this retaining clip. The wastegate system on the EFR looks pretty much identical to the k04I think you can get the kit from gm. The kit # is WPC562. It is related to TSB# pip4820.

Hmmm, interesting. I'll look into getting that clip but that is not where my wastgate came loose. It was from the other end that connects to the Compressor housing. I'm going to take a pic for before taking care of it.

Interesting...Wonder if there is a torque spec for those bolts.

@ Fastgti, I have a 2010 model that was built in late 09 and it didn't have the clip. I just had the turbo replaced under warranty last week and it came with the clip already installed. Nuts came loose on my original turbo and I just ended up using locktite and "double-nutted" it lol

Well, just had to try ethanol for the first time... I love it! The car runs soooo smooth, and it's fast as ****. Only from a base tune at 21 psi I can feel a difference. I can't wait until I'm fully dialed in at 26-28 psi with e47. I did a 50/50 mix, 6 gallons 91 octane and 6.5 of e85 just to be on the safe side. Here is a little pull, just remember this is a conservative 20 psi BASE file it has not been revised once. The new tune I have today at 23 PSI is much stronger, at night I will get another video of the pull maybe he'll send me another revision by then. I'll get a dyno hopefully next week, anyways enjoy!

Thats Sick! How has the spool been on the EFR? Is it stock spool as ZZP states? At what RPM are you reaching FULL Boost at?

Spool isnt bad at all. The power difference is there so you don't even need to spool at all to move. When it starts spooling is when the car gets loud and you feel the PULL. No need to boost when you're cruising so meh. I have a boost ramp so my spool time is different. It spools fast enough though. At like 3-3.5k I start to build boost so pretty much it's almost instant boost at 23 or w/e psi I'm set at. Great turbo.

Pretty much fine tuned, 27psi e47. I can't go higher, not enough fuel lol. Unless I go with 100 octane instead of ethanol.

With me and 2 other people in the car and a couple stuff in the trunk. Forgot to mention, I fixed my axle. I replaced the left one, it still shook like a bitch. I did some hard canyon logging and something finally broke. I checked it out and turns out it was my left axle the whole time. I swapped it out and it has never been smoother. It's like my car is brand new now, and I'm ready for the event in two days! PS, getting dyno'd tomorrow

Update: Got the car dynod. I'm running out of fuel with e47, the injectors can't flow enough. I need larger fuel lobe, cams/valve springs to go higher psi. So far 26 psi 415whp 435wtq. With regular 100 octane I can hit 450whp. I'm satisfied lol

E47. Half e85 half 91 octane.

For someone that argues all the time about dynos being different your trying to argue his numbers are low? Lol .. Seems legit

Dyno could been lower reading, and etc. 24 midrange timing, 26 top to 27 topend with a Afr of 12.8 I'd say his numbers are low. As I'd say dyno is the issue .

I mean if you look closely, the 415 whp pull was only up to 6krpm and it was my last pull of the night (car got hot). If I uploaded the 26 psi file tune for the first pull. I'm sure I would have hit 430whp easy esp if I went up to 6.8krpm. I'd say its pretty damn good.

Legit dyno, I'm totally happy with this. If I get larger fuel lobe cams and valve springs. Run full e85 at 29 psi. I think we can do 470whp+ 7.5k rpm makes a lot of room for power on the table.

BTW how long do you think you can tune me for straight 100 octane. I'm getting bad ideas of just doing straight 100 octane for the 1/2 mile drag. 27 psi 100 octane?

I can get you 2-3 logs of 100 octane most likely before the event. LMK. I'll be awake at 8 my time.
